Does anyone have any really life changing books? Things you've read that shaped the way you've thought forever since? I'd have to say that Venus on the Half Shell, Dave Barry Slept Here, The Moon is a Harsh Mistress, Starship Troopers and Catcher in the Rye have all changed me as a person. Anyone else got some great ones to share?

No books ever change the way I think about things since I never think too much there is no way you can influence something that doesn't occur too often...
There used to be a book called "The Selfish Gene", talked about a theory states that genes are the actually rulers of theis world. It kind of fits my philosophy... and It gave me a lot of confidence to the way I look at things...

Carl Sagan's Cosmos.
An uncle lent it to me. By the end of it I was an avowed atheist! That taught him!

Hell, thats easy! The 1995 Playboy Girls of College Edition! That altered my life, the articles of course...but in reality it would have to be J. D. Salinger's "The Catcher in the Rye", great stuff.

I really liked it until my brother pointed out that Holden complains all the time and is a hypocrite. But I still like it...

"ender's game" and "ender's shadow" gave me insite into a world that would possibly exist in 100 years or so, and political aspect of it as well makes me think a little different.

I don't think there's any one book that's changed my outlook on life, but many that have changed my outlook on a subject. For instance, Bravo Two Zero and The Regiment changed my outlook on the SAS/Army

Ender's Game and Ender's Shadow are both books that belong on there as well.

Some people even called Holden a complete loser thus they thought the book was bad... hell no! What is wrong of reading a book about a loser? The book will be no fun if he never complain about the shit... in fact the best parts of the book are usually made up of his complaints...
It is good to know that you still like it... just like me:D

In real life, right down to a T, I am exactly, well damn near exactly, like Holden. Slightly different here and there, but for the most part, I am the same. I even have a Jane like person in my life. That was a good book, I should read that again.

Catcher in the Rye was terrible. It was so repetitive it was just so boring. "I hate this. I hate that. What i REALLY hate is that. And when people do this, it pisses me off. Not just any kind of piss of, really pisses me off."

Hustler... after looking through some comments in Hustler I realised that women think the same things we're thinking.. so therefore I approach all chicks I meet with the idea that i'm going to get some, even their moms.. so far so good.
