What game do you think it'll rule this friggin' year ?

I hope for Doom 3. I belive in Carmack.

I just finished Splinter Cell, that was one of the best games I've played lately. :D

I can't wait to play Colin 3 and Toca race driver.

Doom III. Bah. The technology, yes. The actual game, no. What the hell is up with CArmack and his "steady 20-30 FPS" gameplay?

I seriously can't wait for Quake IV using hte Doom III engine and being developed by Raven. Sweet story, weapons and the full blown shiznit wrapped up in a delightful package. Now... I just need a shitbox which can actually run said game.

i'm really interested in what makes you think 24fps is all that is needed for perfect motion. i'm not knowledgeable on this topic myself, but a link would help. is it that the tv displays 24fps? that takes into account motion blur i believe.

besides, Doom 3 ain't gonna be morrowind. fast twitch game, and we're gonna need more fps than the promised 20-30....

Still, I really wish he wasn't planning to restrict the game to such low FPS counts. He actually said the reason was because he didn't want Doom III to be a twitch game but more of a atmospheric game.

who cares if the frame rate is low? As long as the storyline(does it have one?) and the game play is good, it works fine for me.

Uh, Unspoken. Carmack said he's gonna skimp on the storyline and concentrate on graphics and technology. That's why I'm waiting for Quake IV.

Definatly Yian! I did the unwise thing of playing Cataclysm a lot before playing Homeworld and I'm so used to time compression that I simply cannot bare the patience that Homeworld demands of the player.

I'm betting it's going to be some obscure game that's going to surprise us all. But what about Valve though? We haven't heard from them in ages!

Valve's dead. All they ever do nowadays is spend all their money on the mod community hoping to find another jewel like Counter-Strike and buy them out and start selling that mod on store shelves not really helping the gaming industry but lining their pockets with GOlD!

Unless tomorrow they have a press conference and officially announce Half-Life 2 and Team Fortress 2 going gold...

as for valve, steam is dead (1.6) its never gonna friggin come out officially... too many lazy 28kers who wont dl all that shiznat for cs...
as for doom 3, i like my doom 2 and my doom 64, but go away.

as for the fps issue... i love it when people in cs go IM GETTING 120 FPS WeoT wo0t...

the human eye only sees 60 fps... old com monitors were 45 fps and flashed frequently, thats why old skool monitors give u headaches.
