Rifle. Its a 30-06, after the police took him away I went and checked the rifle and there was one round in the chamer and two more in the built-in mag. One for him, and the other two were for my grandparents. Police ordered that the weapons be removed from the house. Also he told the police to kill him so thats another reason why he won't be seeing these guns again. This is the third time this has happened because he refuses to take medication. First time also for me to see him like this, man it was literally insane. :D

So instead of being sad that you uncle is this way, you're happy that you got some new guns? I'm starting to wonder who is more fucked up. And how the hell does a guy who's THAT unstable get ahold of guns like that?

Yeah, anyone can go to Wal Mart and get a gun here. That and at least for me (I don't know about other people) I barely know my relatives, I'm forced to see them once every three or so years.

Yeah but if you uncle was mentally unstable and had almost shot himself and your grandparents, would you make a thread to boast about the guns you just aquired? To me that's a bit pathetic.

I'm sorry to hear about your uncle, and also your grandparents who must be very upset about what has happened.
It's good that your uncle had them taken away because of his medical problem, but you still might want to check with judge or lawyer about the true ownership of those rifles. It sounds to me they are in your custody...the police have the right to give them to you to care for...but not to hand ownership of them to you.
Your uncle probably knows the value of those rifles and once he gets back on his meds and gets to thinking properly again, he might insist that he be compensated for them.
He's still the legal owner, and if you should keep or sell them, you might end up having to give your uncle the value for them in cash.
Also, as a side note, I also find it sad that you seem more happy about getting a bunch of wood and metel, rather than upset over the events that took place.
btw: here in Idaho if you called a rifle a 'gun' you would be laughed at. A gun refers to a 'handgun' and not a rifle.

Nice guns! Same thing happened to my grandpa. He got Alzheimer's and gave all his guns to his grandsons.

Nice. What kind of bolters are those; the woodstocked ones? One of them looks almost M1ish.

There is something deeply sexy about a bolt action rifle, the sound and the action, mmmmmmm. ugh, need new pants.

Who cares about a brain that got fried... Jester acquired more weapons of mass destruction, that's what's important here.. stay focused young Jedi, don't do anything stupid with them.
I so want to buy a weapon but I have a shitty temper.. I would end up in jail so it's best I don't.

The bottom one is a .22LR and the others are Russian WWII era. The shotgun is Chinese (i think) and the very top is a Ruger.
Buying weapons in the US is pretty damn easy, just fill out the ATF 4473 form, its got a buntch of questions and if certain questions are answered correctly you get the gun after the form has been called in. There is a part on there about mental people but that didn't apply to my Uncle as long as he kept taking his medication.

Americans are obsessed with firepower, but get so easily scared when there is a half-naked chick on TV. This sound very mature to me.

I love that top rifle. Rugers have always looked good to me we have a couple of handguns but I've always wanted a Ruger rifle to hang on my wall.

Well, first and foremost, I hope your uncle makes a full recovery, and that there is enough support within the family to see that he not only continues on his medication but receives some sort of professional counseling, as well. Sometimes, it's easy to belittle this sort of behaviour, but we should all remember that , short of an earlier demise, we'll be old someday, ourselves.
As for the firearms, the only Russian example would be the 4th from the top, a Moisan Nagant carbine, almost certainly in 7.62X54R. That bayonet may be a liability; I think the BATF frowns on these anymore, although I don't know why. It's not like I've read of any liquor-store robberies or drug-related drive-by shootings being committed with fixed bayonets.
The top rifle is certainly a Ruger. If the pump shotgun is indeed Chinese, it's probably a Norinco 98, a knock-off of the Remington 870. I'd be a bit more certain if I could see the profile more clearly. The rifle below that certainly looks like a German K98 Mauser or some variant thereof, no doubt in 8X57. Bottom rimfire rifle looks like a Marlin, to me.
The Mauser might be worth investing some money into; it could be converted into something more suitable for hunting, and the 8mm Mauser round would be enough for anything on the North American continent, although the Alaskan brown bear might be the exception. But, as Stormy pointed out, until the legal aspect of who actually owns these firearms is determined, the future of these weapons seems unclear. I'm a bit surprised that the police didn't simply confiscate them, if only on a temporary basis. Look after your uncle first, don't concern yourself too much with his (former?) property.
