one thing i have been trying to figure out if its worth the money or not is the FM receivers for the ipod that pump ipod music over your Fm radio stations. does anyoen have one of these? the one im looking at is Icarplay at $70 and i just want to make sure that its not a waste of $$. it would be mainly for car trips to and from home (about 4 hour travel time)

my friend has one of those and the sound quality is reduced to FM signal quality just like the radio... so if you enjoy quality....dont get this.
if your car has a tape reader then get the cassette adapter else try and look around for a hack on the internet to get your cd player to read it. I did that on my friend's mazda 3. had to take out the head unit and solder a stereo plug to contacts on the pc board but the result was really worth it.

If you didn't know how to spell it, then you wouldn't know to put an L there, would you? It's just a fucking typo.
Anyways, you should hopefully have some RCA plugs in the back, and you can get a simple thingamajig to plug from iPod to RCA. If you don't, you might be able to order some sort of adapter or add-on for it. Look up your unit's model on google or some shit, see what you can dig up.

The problem is that the L is pronounced, solder is how you say it. Soder just pisses me off for some reason, probably because it sounds retarded. I think canadians even pronounce it correctly.

I didn't say you or anyone was stupid. It just sounds retarded. I remember some comedian or something ripping it off a while back as well. That site probably has the american pronunciation anyway ;p

Downfall, the menu doesn't help because it doesn't have GLOBAL hotkeys. Only hotkeys when iTunes is the main window.
All the proggies I've found through google are mac only.

I'm pretty sick of my headphones for my ipod, but I want to listen to my songs in the car. Whats the best way of doing that(considering I don't have a cassete player). So far my only option is through the radio. Apple makes the iTrip, but is it the best? What are some other options? If you've used any of them please tell me what you think and if you'd recomend them. I've heard that all of them are radio quality, but radio quality is fine with me. Any suggestions would be appreciative.

less than radio quality. Damn FCC regulations won't allow a powerful broadcasting signal.

I have a radio transmitter, it's nice. I also have an auxillary port on my radio in the car. I also have a car charger.
The problem is that there's a high pitched whine if I plug the iPod in while charging it off the car, I have no idea why. It's awful.
The radio thing can be a little scratchy, but that's largely because of all the radio traffic in the Albuquerque valley, I had no interference when I was in Portland.
I like the auxillary port, it's just like having a headphone jack in your car, only instead of playing over the headphones, it plays on the speakers.
Depends on how much radio traffic is in the area you live in and the shape of the city.
I have one of these babies, I like it alot, and they make models for all the iPods. http://www.everythingipod.com/suggest.tpl?command=search&db=dbs/products.db&cart=110972672031476732&eqPRONAMEdatarq=DLO%20TransPod%20FM%3Cbr%3EAll-In-One%20Car%20Solution&searchSKU=w009-2002&max=1&eqAVAILdatarq=YES&max=1
