Counter-Strike: Source Bots

Bots just got released, go play fuckers! Tell me what you think of them.

Just got back from my first session and all I can say is: Holy shit.

First round:

6 v 5 (I'm CT with 6)

Buy an M4 and follow my team to the main door on Dust. I break left, the rest of the team goes right. Suddenly, the VOICE COM switches on, it's one of the bots, and he says "Enemy Spotted". (Not on the commands menu, through the mic.)

First reaction was: Sweet.

The bots start engaging eachother on the other side of the map. (I didn't see any fighting, I was near the bridge) As the bots start taking eachother out, the voice com is switching on and off giving me updates.

"Got him."
"Four of them left."
"Two left"
"Grenade"
"Got him"
*Counter-Terrorists Win*

Just a second or two later, the mic crackles open and another bot says:

"We owned em"

You know it's cool when a bot kicks ass and knows it.

Next round, I head shotted some bot with an M4 from quite a distance at which point I got:

"Nice shot" through the mic. O_O

They seem to take cover well enough. And you can change options to make the bots stick together, or go rogue. Etc etc. You can choose which weapons the bots can, and cannot use. Which is fucking hilarious when you choose "Grenade" only. (They just use knives and grenades) You don't know threatening until you have 4 motherfuckers come around a corner and all chuck hand grenades at you. You die.

They plant the bomb and defend, etc etc. Good shit, I'm really impressed. Only downfall I see is they're a bit of a CPU hog, but I think that can be fixed after a patch/optimization or two.

Just played another few rounds, heard some new mic stuffs:

"Spotted bomb holder"

"Got him"

"Bomb captured"

etc etc.

The fuckers actually left a guy there to guard the bomb on the ground. (Not planted, just a bomb next to a dead terrrorist.)

And about the system hog comment:

I forgot that I only have 1 stick of 512 mem in my pc right now. (I'm running single channel) for a few days until I get my stick from newegg. So it might run better for others. :)

Yeah. But now it's in CSS. Meaning it kicks more ass now. I'm just glad they fixed the shit with the grenade throwing.

Pretty good bots. I expected them to be more...hmmm....dumb. And they turned out to be kicking my ass on expert.

Oh and bots actually do the unthinkable. Something you almost never get to see in online match. They act as a team.

Actually one of them said something about something camping. I dont know if it was talking about another bot or maybe it said a hostage was camping. I remember it saying something about camping though.

Ok be advised. One of the bots is a dedicated camper (and a pretty good one at that). Cant remember the name though...
