View Full Version : HTML tags disappear when editing comments on the main site.

When editing a comment to a news item or article on the main Action Trip site (not here in the forums as they use a different code base for comments) any boldfaced, italic or underlined etc., HTML enhancements disappear. The tags are still visible in the source text during editing, but no text enhancements are shown afterwards.
Is this deliberate or accidental?

Could be, but what makes an edit different from an initial posting?
Until you start editing your comment, there is no problem with boldfaced or italic fonts but as soon as you start to edit your comment, even though you're not changing anything relating to HTML enhancements (perhaps a simple spelling error or such), your entire comment is shown as plain text. Even so, all the original tags are still there in the text wrote, but apart from the initial posting, they will stay hidden forever.
In short: You'd better get it right the first time or you'll lose any emphasis enhancements of your text :(

I had my pop-up stopper disabled once, just to see what is this entire deal. When a lot of windows started to appear, I knew it was a good time to re-enable the pop-up stopper... the program was able to kill ALL the windows very quickly...
So I went to my friend's computer, shoed him this thingy, and tell him not to worry because he's using the same pop-up stopper program I was using.
His program is the same, but I forgot that he has a shitty processor (P4 1.8). Mine AMD thunderbird 1.2 is not too much better than a P4 1.8, but he has way too many background tasks and his computer is a Dell.... and his CPU was overwhelmed, the shit freezed...
Well, cr3am, where is the warning this time...?
