As seen mine has alot of icons on it. And the ones that you showed me are so clean. Besides at the library I've really never seen anyone elses desktop.

I like all mine right there in front me. I try to keep them grouped by app type. I been looking for a app that I saw somewhere that would let me group icons together and hide them inside of another icon. Sometimes I wonder how much mem is taken up by them.

what.... why doesn't it have a jpeg option? Well, even if it does, you probably not gonna use it. Unlike Photoshop, it doesn't let you adjust the level of the quality. It just saves it, and the pic is shitty looking.

the pic look sfine compared to the filesize. If i put the quality on 0 from photoshop, then it's STILL bigger than photoshop

I have a utility called screengrab that lets me save it in jpg, uncompressed tiff, gif, and png. It lets u chose where u save it to, has a hot key option and it's freeware.
But I can't remember where I got it. But u can go to

:D that thing is called Aston. It is based on Windows but tweak the shit out of it. It is hard to use, too. Very hard for me to recommend that to anyone...:p

alright i want to post my desktop but cant get it to work....to i attach the file? or paste it with the [IMG] comands? I have photoshop now so i can resize the pic to fit the requirements...tried but didnt work....help?.....(detailed help would be good)

just use paint to do any resizing, takes alot less memory..and alot quicker

just go to stretch/skew, and put stretch horizontal and vertical to say 50% and u get 50% of the size!

how I always do it..

And Yian, Aston is a Shell replacer..there are shitloads of them out there, Aston is just one I've found that I like.

Heres my desktop(finaly figured out how to do it...yesi know im a dumb ass) I have the top and side tab on auto hide and the icons in the corner are ussualy covered up by AIM.

What format are you guys sending your shots in? I've been using gif. And that gets to big after about 320x200. I use psp 3.32. I know it's old, but thats what I got.
However I have something else to show you. I did'nt think it would be right to start another thread for just this.
It's a screen shot of my browser. It's IE 6 And I found this site called [URL=http://hotbar.com[/URL] I downloaded a small file from thier site and installs skins over the tool bar of my browser.
They have loads of them too.
Has any of you ever heard of it?

Why would you need to use paint? If you have your background copied, photoshop should make a new file the size of your background, and you can save it as a jpeg.

you try saving an 800x600 pixel jpg in photoshop that's under 70 kb.

cr3am, you can use the "save for web" option in the file menu, and the photoshop will adjust the picture's size to suit the web... How else you think I posted all those babe's pics without comprimising their quality...:D

hahahaha, thats ur 2k system for ya! I use paint all the time when I post pics, I have photoshop, but why use that when paint does it just as well. And actually gif uses 256color...which is significantly less that jpg...which makes the file size less, so what in the world u talkin about large file sizes?

Actually what your problem most likely is, is that the file has been opened as Indexed RGB. This for whatever reason won't save as jpg. So just change it to RGB and try "save as" or "save for the web" again.

Was you talking to me? If so, I was loking for either a dragon or a fairy to use as a avatar (something kinda of female looking, but cool. didn't want anything masculine since I'm a girl) I found some pictures I liked, saved them on my computer. WAIT OH YEAH, mac lag, I mean lab...well I'll just describe the desktop since I cant find the print screen key, um its all black with this toolbar at the top with a rainbow color apple, along with a little bar at the bottom left that has some funky looking icons, I think thats some sort of control panel. Dont wanna touch it tho or it might crap out on me.
