I doubt any of them will crack Starforce 3.4 before the end of the year, and even when they do crack it the Starforce team will just find out what they did and fix the flaw in the next version of Starforce.

SCCT was released back in march and still hasn't been cracked, and Tranmania Sunrise was released in April and it still hasn't been cracked. Sure, you could do that USB Drive trick, but not everybody has one of those.

Of course everything that can be created can be destroyed, but I'd say it's not really worth it if you have to wait so long that the game gets multiple price drops before the crack comes out. As for your racing game (I assume you're talking about GTR, unless you have a USB drive), obviously earlier versions of Starforce were easier to bypass.

As far as I know, they fixed that, but it's up to the game developer/publisher to update the Starforce drivers they supplied with their game, not the Starforce devs...and so far all the game publishers haven't done shit.

You can fix the unit cap easily in the .ini file. I assume you are talking about the single player missions, right?

Be sure to patch the game first. The enemy's fleet is designed to scale within the size of your fleet, which means in certain mission the enemy fleet will be 150% of yours, and then other missions might be 200%, 250%, 120%... since you are going to increase your fleet size, the game might blow the size of the enemy fleet way out of poportion. I played the 1.0 version and found myself in once level facing a wall made of 90 destroyer. At the time I was still using a 9700 Pro and the first ship in my fleet that gave up was my video card.

The reason they designed it that way it so that you will feel the game is always "difficult" when you play. This has to be the dumbest level design of all time. I doubt Relic guys actually played the stupid game after they finished making it. Considering how much hype I had over this title, it broke heart to see how retarded the end result was.

One day if i ever get enough money, I might actually buy the license of Homeworld from VU and do it right myself. Scuh an epic story and setting shouldn't be ruined by a developer who throws its fan into garbage bin so they can move on to Warhammer 40K.

Yes it was, though has anyone else noticed the little Graphic glitches?

For instance in the Story mode when the Commander has a Sword, if he does the killing blow on any thing, for the animation he has the hammer, and vice versa in the last level, i have a SS of a glitch with the Inquisitor doing something similar.

The motion blur, colour filter/lighting effects are so freaking cool and the game plays so much better than any other racing game I've got, highly reccomend picking up this one.

In that directory there are 3 folders representing each of the 3 cars in game. Skins should go in one of those folders. Do not unzip them, put the entire zip file in the correct folder. You should find the guideline of the skin purpose car on the site you downloaded it from (Bay, Coast, Sport).
When installed go to your profile in game and choose the skin from the menu.

Reset the entire mission (I had an open shot to ressurect him)! I got yelled at for not bumrushing a guard but instead trying to sneak around and grab him (which I would have done had the Frenchman not sliced open his belly)! Seriously, Europeans have a bad rep. on this game for me! But not without reason...

Actualy the best place to grind at your level would be Gnomeregon, nothing better then an instance with fast respawning creeps and a Vendor inside the instance itself.

Psi-Ops is such a great game. I remember fighting that huge black dude, catching and tossing blocks back at him while dodging vehicle-sized objects that my psi powers weren't able to handle. Ah, good times. My favorite moment, though, was when you're on the top of a skyscraper at one point and killing enemies becomes even easier as you simply toss them off to the side, watching them fall to their death. Ah, gooder times.

looks pretty sweet, can u actually fly the heli?Nope. The heli is a part of a cut-scene. The mod is pretty good though. Very solid design overall plus pretty nice gameplay and the story is intriguing to say the least. Its only a first “chapter” of a mod though, there will be more to it.

My reasons for dislike:

Terrible acting, dull unoriginal story, poor character animations, boring same old weapons, having to press fire twice after reloading in order to shoot, the shotgun not firing until it has been completely reloaded, poor texturing and the dumb ass reload/save stations, and finally dumb npc ai.

Geez what a waste of a 500mb download, maybe I'll try the starship troopers demo next, looks a little more promising.

Bet on Soldier uses a Bloom filter, not HDR (which is what I assume you meant by "high def lighting"). And imo, this game makes horrible use of specular lighting.

Oh yes, I also hated the demo and shall never go anywhere near this game ever again.

Man, it looks better than a lot of things out nowadays.That was a first thing that I noticed while playing the demo a good while back. All though nothing surprising really the lack of bells and whistles of today’s technology only constitutes quality in this case. What really is sad is the steady decline in the actual gameplay/story value today. Specifically in the FPS gender. Or at least as far as I see it from the personal stand point. The fact that I enjoyed playing this game more than most (if dare I say all) of the FPS games I played recently really scares the bejisus out of me when I think of the future to which we are heading geared up with our Athlon San Diego's, 7800GTX's and ram enough to navigate a space shuttle while listening to some MP3's.

I totally agree with what you guys said about the decline of game quality, and I believe we all have been talking about it for quite some time, thus we are definitely not alone felling this way. A lot of people blame the console people for draggin down PC games' quality, and I used to think that might be one of the reason. But now I believe that pc games and video games are getting weaker on gameplsy while stonger on graphics together. There was a time video games was fun, just like PC games. Maybe because there was only somuch you could do to impress people vidually, so the developers must focus on making the levels, AI, and weapons very interesting so people will play it.

For PC games, the strength lays within complex, hardcore RPGs, and intense FPS. Hardcore gamers like us will feel the games becoming easier and easier. But you really can't make easy RPG or easy FPS, because what is the fun of playing a game with such nature and make them an easy exprience.

RPG, for an example, is all about immersion. If you suck at imagining your own world like George "Jar Jar Binks" Lucas, you need an RPG game to do it for you, either take you to the post apocolypitc world of Fallout, the foggy island of Morrowind, the cow world of Diablo 2, or the realm of bordem in Dungeon Siege. These games are going to be tough, however, because it is trying to make you part of a world that doesn't really exist. You need to spend time reading the text to understand the lore. You need to follow the rules, read the lines and numbers and know your dice rolls. You need to watch out the magic types and your weapon/armor grades and constantly hunting for better ones while you choose the best path of leveling your character. All this combined is an overwhelming exprience, but that is what an RPG is.

And the FPS. In these games you are usually playhing the lone-gun-man, with a invisible bag filled with guns and you are up against the world. Things become easier because sometimes you can step over a med kit and your health recovers, or your ammo replenishes themselves. But when in a fire fight, you have many guys shooting at you, and your objective is to kill them and move on. Imagine an action film like Die Hard, the action filem we all know and love, and imagine if you are in his shoes (or his feet with glass shards), would you consider it to be an easy job? FPS doesn't have to be realistic (and usually the realistic ones aren't any fun, like MOAPA), but the fund part should also be challenging. What's the fun part? Shooting at the guys, watching things happening around you, interesting enemies, and the accomplishment of defeating some thing tough. The boring part? Can't find the door to the next room, repetitive levels, same enemies, long loading times, and such. In stead of making the boring part disappear, developers now just make games easier so everyone can play. HALO got to be the easiest shooter ever embraced planet Earth. Every developer should learn from SOF2 and Doom 3, then they might have a chance to make the next FEAR.

If people like to play easy games, there is no point to make all genres easy for them. RPG and FPS is born to be tough. An easy RPG or FPS is like a bottled-water without the water. What's the freaking point!?

I think graphic power loses its charm rather quickly, comparing to the actual gameplay. And you are right, I'm probably the only person you can find aroound the world that thinks games needs to be tough in some way to be fun. It's just too often that I found myself beating a game without feeling that I have actually accomplished anything. The last time I expreinced that was from Half-Life.

I believe it is not impossible we can't have graphics and good game design together. A lot of people find Half-Life 2 to be awesome. I thought the gamw was less than 50% than what everyone said it is. Doom 3 is repetitive (but still better than Half-Life 2). FarCry would have been the closest thing if it didn't have all thsoe trees. :p

I am just not that into graphics anymore. Metal Gear Solid looked like crap from day one, but I love that game so much.

Graphics don't make, nor do they override gameplay! And yet, there is one specific audience that thinks this: Console gamers. I wish I were being biased but I am honestly not, and I'm saddened. I'm in highschool, so vidja games are a huge part of conversation in the lunchroom. As a PC gamer, I have the responsability to take care of my rig, and maintain it, making sure it'll run what I need. Console gamers are the most rudementary form of plug&play. Put it in, turn it on, BOOM! you're playing Halo2.

The most common arguement they have when I say that I play PC games is that you "always" have to upgrade it, and that you have to install games and they take up "too much" room and everything. Bullshit. My Radeon 9600 may not run FEAR at pretty, but it runs and still maintains fun factor (and considering the funnest games are older, it'll run them perfectly!).

It seems as though the introduction of the XBOX, PS2, and to a lesser extent (well, if it had any games...) the Gamecube has dumbed down the ENTIRE industry and not just the consoles. It seems that developers have insisted that they focus on broadening their outreach rather than focusing on making a good game. Boooooo!

And then the market is friendlier than ever towards quick-buck devs. There are more "Wal-mart" games on the shelves of CompUSA than ever. Twenty bucks and you get a shitty coaster. We don't discourage this behaviour either, thus the "big dogs" have seen how the small ones are getting away with it and feel that they can cut back and still make a lot of money.

It's obvious that they've even gone to such lengths as to play off the media. I read boxes that use "HOLY SHIT THIS GAME IS THE BEST EVER!" - Some Dude, but what you can't see is the five-point font saying "E32k3". They're pimping full fledged shit with half-done good, thus sucking more money in and lowering the bar with such low-down tactics.

It is indeed true, the overall bar has raised, but for every Half-Life we get, ten Psychotoxics are born. Now, the question is, how do we stop this trend?

Ironically enough, I ended my chess fiasco shortly after purchasing an expensive, hand-carved chess set. I admire the craftsmanship and the strategy of the game, but I always find myself lamenting the lack of momentous explosions followed by meaty particles. Ah, video games are such a spectacle.

Now that I think about it I'm not even into WW2 games and as far as I gather the last one I played was Return to castle wolfenstein which well isn’t really a ww2 representation in the first place but the pattern kind of shows from there on in. That doesn’t constitute that CoD2 is some kind of "eye opener" though (or an instant buy for that matter). But I can’t deny that I did enjoy the demo.

I use a playstation controller with a usb adapter, so the control is very good in that respect. I haven't tried mouse and keyboard, but I would think controller would be the way to go for this title.
