After getting the 3rd VOICE PROTOCOL recording I am stuck inside the turbolift doors. The door will not open and when I go back I have to go through the whole sequence with the HK50 droid. Then I am back in the list. I can load a previous save but I can never back to the droid. Any ideas?

Also - the WARP cheat is supposed to send you to another MAP but there is no list of all the maps. Does anyone have the map list?

OR - is there a cheat to skip to the next level since I have been at this PREAGUS level for a week now and can't get out.

Have sympathy for an old guy who loves playing these games.

:p Well by accident I found out how t use the WARP code. If you look in your KOTOR@ directory there is a foleder called LIPS. Open that folder and you will find files named 001EBO_loc.mod. ; 101PER_loc.mod; 201TEL_loc.mod; etc....

If you have the CHEATS ENABLED just press the TILDA (~) key and type in the code as follows:

warp 101PER and press ENTER.. Your game will load the new location map in PERAGUS with everything your character already had accumulated.

Since I was stuck in the last map of PERAGUS I entered WARP 201TEL and it forwarded me all the way to the CITADEL STATION - DOCK MODULE so I began at that point.

I have not checked all of them but "warp 901MAL" takes you all the way to MALACHOR V.

I dont use cheats lightly but when you are totally bogged down this will at least get you to the next level....

I hated the first planet on KOTOR 2 so much. It was so boring and dull. Once you get off that ass rock its a bit better.

I am glad you WORKED out your PROBLEM.
It is annoying WHEN things screw up in GAMES.

The dude has a problem Rebel. You don't have to make it even clearer for him that he isn't normal.

Damn it, what the hell happened to KOTOR 2. It has all the makings of a great game, but if you own an ATI card, your royally screwed. You know the game was rushed when you have to freakin change code to make certain areas of the game run smooth. Hell I can't even turn it past 2 AA without it running 4 FPS. They need to patch their POS soon to make it playable.

I also have video problems with my NVIDIA 5200 (128m mem) video card. Some of the scenes movie scenes will freeze or even have a totally blank screen while the guns and sound still act is if everything is working. When the ship crashes and my character is laying on the ground BAO DUR is just standing there with the grass flowing and it will stay in this scene for over an hour without anything happening and no keyboard or mouse activity will change it. I have to shut down the game and start over. Sometimes between scenes the video will click and reset in the monitor ever time the scene changes as if every different scene is in a different resolution. Very poor coding. I have totally put the game away and quit messing with it for all of these reasons and more.

Its just one little line to disable a badly implemented feature, who cares. It takes 3 seconds to put it in and once its there it makes the game run perfectly in maximum detail with all the trimmings. If that doesn't work because your system is a bit old disabling grass definitely will. Kotor 2 is an awesome game and having to add one line of text to an ini file shouldn't detract from that. I went back and played the first one today and its amazing to see the amount of things that have been changed and improved this time round. I also really liked how they didn't rehash the old story or rely on similar key plot features. Kotor2 has its own complete and well thought out story that is truely awesome.

One thing I really liked was how the original brought up the philosophical question of what is good and what is bad, then this game extended that to what makes an action good or bad. I am just in awe of this series and I hope they make many more with the same writers. Sure the game has its problems ( some quest triggers are easily broken ), but it didn't ruin anything for me. The only AI problem is when stupid fucking team mates run through mines... gah, that really needs to be fixed ;)

I also think its unfair that Bloodlines scored so well and Kotor did not, especially when it contained more bugs, some of which stopped you from getting further in the game.

I'm currently playing the game through for the second time with a char that has high repair and computers to see if I can get anything out of T3-M4 ( the coolest char ever purely because he embodies the very essence of R2-D2, thank fuck there wasn't a C3-PO like droid though... *phew* ).

golfbuddy45: Those are some wierd problems, out of the 5 people I know who have played and finished the game irl I haven't heard of any of those. For the problem in the last post, do you have the latest graphics card drivers?

Don't get me wrong, I like the game. That was one little example of some of the bugs. But when KOTOR 2 runs worse than KOTOR with the exact same graphics engine, and I upgraded my rig, there is a problem. Especially when my game CTD's every two hours or so. It just has the feeling of being rushed.

MR BORED.. What .ini line are you referring to.. I have not seen anything regarding changing a line in the kotor2.ini file that will help with video problems. I have an MSI NVIDIA G4/8 128mb Graphics adapter less than a year old and have all the latest NVIDIA updates from the MSI website. I have no problem with any large hi video games including HALFLIFE2, VAMPIRE BLOODLINES, X13, GTA3, NFSU2, DOOM3, et al, and not the slightest problem with KOTOR1. KOTOR2 is the first to cause me the slightest glitch. I have a 3gHz Intel processor, 3GB PC2700 mem, 128mb video memory, and 500gb of free disk space. Dont think it is my system at this point.

Thanks for your interest in my problem.

Unfortunately that ini file line only helps problems with ATI cards afaik. Either way, it goes under the graphics options and its "Disable Vertex Buffer Objects 1". Think thats how it goes, I'm not at my pc atm so I can't check.

DanTheMan: Are you sure that the CTDs are not your system? I had my ram timings set slightly too high and I was having the same problem. After I sorted that out I completed the game without a single CTD.
