This thread isn't really needed. Anybody with a brain can compare the specs of the Xbox and PS2 to see if its better or not. And if you are going to compare screens of a multiplatform game, find a screen of the smae location on both platforms. That way you can point out which console does whatever feature that looks nice in the screen better.

PS2 has a larger library of games. People like being able to choose from a wider range, even if half of em are crap :)

and XBOX, being newer, supports many graphic features that the PS2 doesn't have. thing is....the PS2 is older.

oh, and i play splinter cell on PC anyway. looks SO much better than that xbox there :D

I don't have a ps2 or xbox but I have played many games on both and from what I can see there is not a huge difference. That's not to say there isn't one. Xbox definitely looks better. Just not a whole helluva lot, but enough that you can see a difference. But guess what, you can only tell if you are looking for it. Most of the time I was too busy playing the damn games to notice.

Now for the second half of my two cents. What I said shouldn't surprise anyone. Of course xbox has the graphics edge on ps2. They waited longer to put it out so they had access to newer hardware.

Example. Several months ago I decided my Geforce2 wasn't cutting it anymore. I could buy a 4600ti but the 9700 was coming so I waited. It finally came out and was a hands-down hit but, the Gefoce Fx was coming soon and I knew it would be better so I waited. That one eventually came out and, well we all know what it turned out to be, but by now the 9800 had been announced and, etc etc etc.

My point is this. Eventually you have to draw your line in the sand and make your choice. There is always something revolutionary right around the corner. If xbox and psx kept waiting for better hardware than what the other had, then we would have neither.

I have my xbox mainly just so my friends have something to play when they are over, or for the multiplayer support. Though I do get the single player game now and then. Consoles just dont live up to what the PC can do, but most people in the world arent smart enough to run them so they fall back to consoles :P

Yeah, right next to X-box...it reads...GC=X-box, X-box>PS2. also, X-box/PS2<GC. GC+PS2>X-box. ah, i know! X-box+GC>PS2+DC. Obviously, the X-box is inherently evil since it is a m$ product, and has not all that many games, but it's almost as good as your PC probably is, and Team Ninja Apparently isn't developing for any other platform. Not to mention you can listen to MP3s while playing games and whatnot.

hehehe... if MS is evil enough, soon Halh-Life 2, Doom III, and many others will be XBox Only... do you guys want that happen? XBox is surely great but their competition is hurting the PC games:

PS2 siezed the market quickly by defeating GameCube, and XBox tried to jump into the market to beat PS2 with, uh, fewer games, bigger controllers (not a good thing), heavier and bigger machines, and more expensive price... it did nothing but strengthen the PS2's already established foundation.

Then all the console game developers jumped onto the boat of PS2 because it is big now, and they will surely get paid off their efforts because they know there are more people out there gonna play the game...

Then no one is willing to make games for XBox! So, MS just have to dig the pc game developers to make the game X-Box Exclusive... then PC gamers are kind of fucked.

DOOM III will probably suck, ID isn't known for good stories. The graphics will be amazing, but i seriously dout the story will be good. IMO they should of handed it to Raven software, they own. Quake 4 will kick ass because Raven is doing it. Sure, Ravens games are not the end all, be all of games but non of them have been complete crap. Every Raven game i've played has been either good or great.

Yeah, but I think that DOOM is one of those games that deserves a good story. Its a good idea for a game, it could be the next system shock or Half-Life (I hate Half-Life, but many people like it so i used it as an example). DOOM III will be scary and fun, but the fun-factor and scaryness could be doubled with a dark and compelling story.

Doom 3 might have a good story. Remember, John Carmack said that we should not make any judgement based on that leaked alpha. It will be scary as hell though.

Doom 3 will come out on PC. There's too much engine work, lots of game dev's already using the engine, they have to stick out there.

I havn't played the alpha, i'm just guessing it won't have a good story because of ID's track record. None of thier games have ad a great story, thats why they didn't give Quake 3 any story at all, just a single player ladder.

Yes, there are games that use the quake engine that have great story lines. But not any of them were developed by ID, unless of course RCTW was made by ID, then that gives them one game. I'm not sure who made it though.
