Quake 2 + Doom 3 engine = wetness

I heard that there would be a Quake 2 mod for Doom 3. But I had never seen any screenshots. Not sure if any of you have seen these shots yet so I will post them here.

Ok it seems they have over 30 SS2 shots. I knew I had seen some back in the day, with that ATi enable junk. But here is the newest in game shot. Does that green guy look like he has Quake 3 style armor on? Or is it just me? And is that weapon huge or what?

Anyway: Quake 2 is quite awesome, but why not just go with one of those improvement mods like Quake 2 Ext... Exp... It made it cooler...

I agree, Quake 4 is looking awesome, and it's in good hands. There's only one real thing I can see screwin' it up: PUBLISHERS!!! So many awesome games, only to be rushed out the door and become nothing but crap... *sniffle*

Yeah I remember playing the test level from that mod. Very nice and more importantly true to the original.

As for SS2, personally the screenshot doesn’t appeal to me. May be the scene itself isn’t so well composed since I saw some of the early videos from the game which looked stunning.

Q2 is still my favorite game of all time. SOooooo many memmories. I hope this mod is as true to the original as they can make it, and it looks like it is going to be that way from the screenshots.

Amazing, people still play Q2? We play it everyday at work during lunch hour (with small windows, heh), right now using the Awaken2 mod.
