Castration.. legal or not?

Now if people both males and females were Castrated for committing crimes would the crime rates still be as high as they are today in the world, or would people simply stop doing dumb shit? Yes or no and why so?

well, if they commited rape sure, why not...if they killed someone, castrate a lil deeper(when you do that, there is a chance that you dont survive for all who dont know about castration). i think it would work out to a certian point, but please not for simple crimes like a parking ticket and such!

I'm not so sure, Downfall. Sometimes I think most of these sub-humans can't see beyond their goal. (The crime.)

They don't expect to get caught, so they might not be deterred by castration. (I've always felt that certain criminals should be made involuntary organ-donors. A similar, but somewhat more subtle variation of Phoosh's foot removal concept. ;) )

that could work...instead of cutting off a hand for stealing...we just....take your spleen and donate it to someone else or something to that effect.

Well for my opinion I think Downfall said it best, such a law would surely keep most people inline.. after all if someone is not smart enough to realise that crime doesn't pay, then they deserve what comes to them.

Though I do think that rapists should be castrated with a rusty spoon, I'm afraid a law like this wouldn't really change the number of crimes commited very much.

Take a look at the US: Several states still use capital punishment and the average incarceration periode is considerably longer than in most other countries ... but there is still pleny of crime in America.

I don't think crime can be prevented no matter how severe the consequences are but then again, I never expected most of the criminal to be able to think about consequences when they are about to commit the crime (they are simply too lame brained to do that) ... so to me, punishment is not about stopping crime but about stopping the criminals from doing whatever they did again.

Dealing out harsh punishments is not generally a good idea, considering how faulty the Justice system can be. Me, I'm for the death penalty and such (it's logical for people who can't be reformed) but try tell how great it is to all the families of people who were zapped but innocent.

Yeah thats pretty messed up..but I think any form of death punishment is good for the population of the world...there are WAY too many people...but thats my point of view(as cruel as it is).
edit: oh and yeah castration would definitely reduce crime. (along with population...no reproduction haha)
