Choices, Choices

I got a nice bit of change from summer work and I'm looking to get a new piece of hardware. I've narrowed it down to two choices. A 6800 class vid card OR a set of the Logitech Z-5500 speakers. I'm running a 9800 Pro so I'm not in dire need of a new vid card, but I do have a Ausigy 2 ZS audio card and only running it into 2.1 speakers.

I would say a 6800 class video card. A 9800 Pro just doesn't cut it anymore. I sold off my 6600GT and am waiting to purchase a 6800GT also.

As far as the choice goes it's really hard to say. What 2.1 system do you have? Sweet speakers are always fun to play with, but in the end I'd lean more to getting a 6800GT/Ultra.

Well I recently bought a Asus V9999 6800 Gamers Edition and I gotta tell ya. It's sweetaladiddly. HDR and stuff on it. Man I'm crapping my pants every time I see a strider or Dog walking up to me. Bling bling. Never in my life had I played games on everything set to high and I gotta tell ya, I've been missing out on a lot! Damn.

Speakers, seriously. 2.1 sucks. Badass sound really makes a huge difference.

Wouldnt be an investment. Yeah, you dont need 5.1 surround when you are high and listening to Comfortably Numb on a 2.1.

I would go in for a speaker setup in case I had the cash in hand (along with a 9800 sitting comfortably inside).

Ok I've made a decision. Gonna buy the speakers now, then I'm gonna get the new card for my B-Day, seeing as how I will need a new PSU for it and I don;t have enough for the card and PSU upgrade. I'm gonna get the MSI 6800 GT 256 mb card too, read some reviews and benches that made it higher than a 6800 ultra :D .

Fuck cocaine.. for the the price of one 6800gt would could buy about 4 or 5 bottle of Ketamine.. bake that shit in the oven and sell some baggies for 10 a pop.. some skimpy ass baggies at that. You will easily make enough for the 6800gt plus the speakers.

Yea but I'm looking for one to basically carry me till next fall when UT2K7 comes out and that's when I'll be getting a whole new high-end system. Mainly looking for one that will be able to handle FEAR, Quake 4, and Quake Wars well.
