Ok, guys, for the first time Yian the Great officially declares that "I really had enough shit from PC and have to admit console might replace PC games completely sooner or later..."

Back in the day when PC games are still in extremely great shape, a "port" is a "port", means everything is customized into PC's account. Now, a game with a fucking emulator then they want to sell it to PC gamers. 7.6 GB!? I have to smoke all the pot you could find at East coast to get a game like that...

Controller!? Do they know that they are "porting" this game into PC?

Look at the textures! Like shit!

I just don't think these people give PC a fuck anymore. The message is obvious: They don't care about enhancing the graphics because it looked great on consoles. They don't bother to tweak the game into ATI-friendly because Xbox doesn't use ATI's thingy. They don't bother to tweak the control because it was great with the controller on the console...

More games like this, more people get tired of PC, more people just stick to the console. And, many PC's advantages are disappearing anyway. (Mutiplayer, for an example)

Console looks like shit on graphics, but hey remember what happened to Dreamcast? Wasn't that shit great? What happened to it? Great graphics is not important to most gamers who probably never seen a game with some "real hardware" in his life, so he wouldn't know the difference! The gameplay is what's really matters!

XBox has better graphics, then why PS2 sold better? More games!

(sigh)... I'm afraid that MGS2 might have marked the beginning of an end of an era... and if DOOM III does become an XBox exlusive, that will be the second. Huh, anyone knows anything about Half-Life 2?

Maybe they should stop producing games on the PC for the lowest common denomenator... The only reason that some console games have better graphics is because the people who produce the games for the consoles can make the games for the highest standard (since all the consoles have the same 'specs'), and therefore. it gives consoles a bit of advantage - one that could be avoided.

Yian, you KNOW your 9700 can CRUSH, I mean CRUSH, these freakin' consoles without breaking a sweat. And, I think the gap is only going to get wider in terms of graphics between the consoles and the PC. I don't know if Microsoft has an "X-Box II" waiting in the wings, but considering they're losing their shirts on the current platform, I kinda doubt it. Avoid the "ports", it's just that simple. The developers will get the message sooner or later. Crank up the AA and the AF and laugh your ass off at those dorks playing "games" while squinting at their RCA. You're better than that.

Yeah, unless you have a HD screen, the text is nigh-impossible to read.

What text? And also, what's an HD screen?

Text on a console game is nigh-impossible to read unless you have a high definition screen. That's what we be saying yo. (HD in the context of tvs means high definition). PCs will always have games written for them, do you know why? Because there are WAY more PCs out there than any one console. Game publishers have this thing for money, it really turns them on. In fact, you could say that's why they publish games, to make money, and not, as people think, just to be wacky.

It's the same reasoning behind publishing games for PS2. Sure the graphics won't be as nice, but you'll sell a ton of games. I mean, there's this one game developer called Maxis, they are owned by EA. Well anyways they have sold quite a bit of copies of this game called Sims or whatever on the PC. There's like 5 expansions and they are all best sellers.

I've also heard tell that there's a game called Half-life which sold 1 or 2 copies for the PC and people are still playing it with user created mods, something unheard of on consoles. Just because Konami is stoooopid (look at thier sk8ting game!) and MGS2 was created by someone on LSD (have you seen the ending?) doesn't mean PCs suck and consoles rule.

Sort of reminding me the time whe I was playing Homeworld with Iky (Matt), and he was using a TV because he lost his monitor. He can't read What I typed to him because the text was small... He was asking me how to form alliance with me, and the way to do that is to go inot the tactical overview by pressing capslock, but I have to tell him the key in this way:

C A P S L O C K

instead just type in "capslock", so he could sort of guess what I'm typing... and I'm glad to know that some of us still have faith in PC games!!! Thanks Rhenna!:D

Ok... thanks. I've only had trouble reading text once, and that was just some multiplayer scores in James Bond. I guess I'm lucky

Oh, come on! Consoles are there for kids and people who can't afford decent rigs! Thinking that sooner or later everyone will use one uniform console to play games on? Get real! That's like predicting one company will rule the operating system market!

They don't bother to tweak the game into ATI-friendly because Xbox doesn't use ATI's thingy.

You know, there is a reason why it was like that (i say was, because konami released a ATi patch). Its because the Xbox and PC are very similer (sp?), so they probably only had to change a few things and it was already done for PC. There probably wasn't enough time to put in support for ATi video cards, they just wanted to get it on store shelves as soon as possible, so they decided to release a patch later.

P.S. Don't blame all consoles for low-res textures, PS2 is the one with a tiny amount of memory.
