I zeroed in on the below choices.

My prioritie's right now only for the Motherboard, Processor and RAM. The rest would be a gradual upgrade process (not taking long, but may be 3 - 4 months). I will be using my existing setup execpt for the cabinet and all the outdated crap inside it.

I want a 1GB stick n thus a 2GB Dual Channel setup.

I do not know all the facts about the AMD cores, but my knowledge tells me that the San Diego is the latest and "E stepping" is the latest revision. Of course this baby has got a 1MB L2 cache.

I took a lot of time getting my options down to three. It would be really helpful in case you ppl know any better combination fitting this budget.

My other alternatives were:
Mobo -> Could not find another alternative!
Processor -> AMD64 4000+ @ $380
RAM -> High Performance 2GB (2x1GB) HP3200 2-3-2 @ $322

I wouldn't take OCZ mem. I've heard numerous complaints about it not working well with the DFI mobo. Check the DFI site for compatible mem.

otherwise than the ocz thing, thats a great setup. 2 gigs of ram is a good idea.

the only thing i would change is the slidr version of the same motherboard. and the vendor; monarch computers is cheaper for this, and they have bundled software (hl2 and farcry for free).

gonna be hella hard to overclock well with 2 gigs of ram.

I would get the Asus A8N SLi but that's just me.

Guess the Mushkin is fine then? Or are there any other, with 1GB sticks and a 2GB Dual Channel Kit?
BTW, was it Corsair that got together with DFI in releasing RAM specifically for the DFI family?

My only reason I did not choose the SLI version of the mobo was that I am short of cash for one PCI express card and so cant even dream of the other.

Thank you very much :)

I am confused. Could you be a bit more specific?
