Well it looks like ATI is trying to get rid of the X800XL AGPs so I'm gonna swipe one up before they get get rid of them all, 3rd parties included. So I have a choice between a Gigabyte one and the ATI one. Gigabyte is 258 on Newegg with shipping and the ATI one is around 277 on buy.com . Just wondering if I should just get a ATI manufactured one or a 3rd party. Looking to buy it in a before Wednesday this week.

Either way it should make no difference, but I don't trust Buy.com as much as Newegg. Infact, I'm looking to get the same card within a few weeks.

What's wrong with newegg? I bought from them a couple of times, and never had any problems... What did they do to you?
@ DP, I think the ATI one is just as good. No 3rd party ones has done any significat change as far as I know. As long as it's not an ASUS one, everyone else is good.
[EDIT] Just want to add more to this. Either go with the brand you trust or you had good exprience with. See which one has the best warrenty and the best price. For X800XL, I heard its overcolockability isn't that nice, so brands shouldn't matter much.
Quoting from [H]ardOCP forum:
Sapphire - Nothing special. DVI and VGA. Different cooler (i dont like it). Card comes in blue or red.
Powercolor - Uses 1.6ns DDR3 (all other cards use 2.0ns) and has a power connector, which allows for slighty better overclocks, but I woudlnt pay a whole lot more for it. Has dual DVI.
Connect3D - Far as I can tell, nothing special here either.
MSI - Has dual DVI, nothing else worth noting.
Asus - Has dual DVI, has rediculios Asus price. Even worse, its memory clock is only 700mhz, not 980mhz like the rest. Dont bother!
ATI - Base model. Nothing fancy about it, but unless you need dual DVI, its the only thing going at MSRP.
HIS - This card rocks, if you can find it. It has the uber ATI Silencer style cooler on it. Nothing else special, but the cooler is reason enough to get it.

well Newegg has removed the ATI version of the X800XL from stock can't find it at all. Plus the Gigabyte one is cheaper, oh and Yian Hobbes said he doesn't trust Buy.com, he likes Newegg.com. Well I've been doing some more research and I'm liking the Gigabyte one, it uses the ATI reference board for the card and it also has Video-In while the ATI one does not.

Thats why....
You could also try ebay, I found a couple ATI X800XL AGP's for under $250 shipped. Might be a bit slower than Newegg though.

A guy who loved his X800 XL to death is now coming here and saying after using the 6800GT somemore, that do not buy the X800 XL. Reason is simple, X800 XL rocks and stuff but it does not overclock well, has no shader model 3, which is apparently becoming extremely important (see AOE3 for example, it uses HDR/bloom and looks like complete ass without them). I tried both settings. Now the choice you have to make is..
1) If you prefer, nifty effects like HDR and bloom, get 6800GT. If you do not get the X800 XL.
2) If you are an AA whore, get the X800 XL, if you are not get the 6800GT.
3) If you are an overclocker, get the 6800GT, if you are not get the X800 XL.
4) If you prefer stable drivers where a single driver runs them all, get the 6800GT, otherwise get the X800 XL.
Overall, I am running a 6800GT, because I can't let go of effects and I am waiting for FEAR, AOE3, and Quake 4 all of which would be running dandy on a 6800GT. (Tried FEAR and AOE3 and its performance was better with the 6800GT).
I now have a PNY 6800GT pumping out 6800Ultra specs. The X800 XL can't even touch it except for sharper image quality when using no AA (less aliasing shimmering).
Choice is yours. Even if you are keeping a card till end of this year, X800 XL is not an option. If you are keeping it for anytime longer, its not even worth considering. Secondly, buying now will be stupid IMO, since the cards will be going for 200 USD next month. You can also snatch a refurb X800 Pro for 179 bucks (use coupon code 1010 to get 5% discount) making it 170 bucks + 10 bucks shipping. Much better investment IMO. X800 Pro is a good card and is about 70+ bucks cheaper. Plus it has 3 year warranty from ATi. How fucking cool is that.
Get a better card w/ your system upgrade next year or something.
Everything is IMO, but that's what I am doing, keeping a 6800GT till december or febuary, until I go dual core.

Damnit and Newegg has and XFX 6800GT instock for 291, w/ 5 dollar shipping. They are phasing out the AGP cards from sales.

Dude try zipzoomfly.com. Forget X800 XL. Take advice from a person, who used shitloads of cards this year and settled for 6800GT for a reason.

Alright got the 6800GT from WGARA's post and also reading some stuff about it. Anyone who is trying to get an AGP card better act quick because it looks like they are being phased out, at least the ones we're talking about here. The 6800GT performed just as well as the X800XL and even better in Doom 3 engine based games. Now I just gotta wait 3 days for it to get here :) .
