It started a few days ago. Whenever I opened internet explorer, the message we're sorry for the incovience, but IE has encountered a problem and needs to close. It happened several times a day I had this problem not to long ago with my computer and I ended up having to reformat. Well that's what I had to do with the laptop. The problem? It didn't reformat and now the only the it does is when you it on it says something like windows xp didn't install properly and will now atempt to reboot. Then it cuts off, restarts over and over. I finally had to turn it off by holding the power button intil it went off. I'm guessing you reformat laptops like regular computers. If not, then I don't know what the hell I'm doing.
Any ideas, besides shooting it?

did try just puting the xp disc in and repairing the ie or even repairing th connection, and formating a laptop is the same as fomaating a pc and if it isnt ive been doing it wrong with mine, also if nothing works theres always throwing it at the wall.

Well, I started to get a message that I think said something about windows32/startup something or other. I can't remember exactly what it said. It didn't stay on the screen long enough for me to copy it down. So we tried the driver recovery cd. That worked a couple of times. Then my husband called his brother-in-law, told him what was going on and what we had already tried. His brother in law told him that he'd had the exact same thing happen to both his computer and laptop. He said he tried fixing them for 8+ hours, before he ended up having to reformat. So my husband took the operating system cd and tried reformatting several times, After about 2 hours and a million curse words later, I finally just turned the damn thing off.
