With all this tlak on oblivion, i found my self installing my old coppy of morrowind.

Id just gotten to balmora and rember we had a little thread filled with al sorts of new shit to keep me interested, So, iv downloaded one or 32 of them.

But unfortunately most, if not all of them did not come with instructions, now, one of them came with an auto installer, but after installation seemed to have no effect.

Also the majourity of the files were not recognisable, is that because i need to Dl some specific program, or is it simply i need to copy paste them into the corrcet folders.

Any help would be apreciated, and all the mod's where located within the Grand Morrowin thread, and their respecting sites

What are the extensions of the files you downloaded that can't be recognized?

And maybe all the auto installer did was extracting the files to the right folders, but you still need to enable the mod. Go to the menu and check the box to enable the mod. I think it is called Data Files on the main menu of the game, the one that you see when you first click on the shortcut, not the in-game menu.

Basicly alot of the mods i downloaded, Like, better faces, better bodies, banks, NPC replacers ect, where all just one file, That file is not recognised by my comp :(

Il gve that a try. All advice is helpful, il give it a try and tell you you if it worked.

Cool got Better bodies working....shame id made a male character who was running around iin the buff >.< [sold his crappy clothes for cash and was going to steal better later]

Download winrar, it seems to reconise more of the files, Im still not fully understanding how to install them though :(

Well, back off to try again.

typically, it'll be an archive of some sort with file and folders within it. If it's been done properly, you should just need to extract everything into the Data Files folder, and everything should be placed appropriately.

Youd think, iv done that with about 30 of the 40 modss iv currently DL'd, and so far only 5 of them are listed in the "Data files" part...

Either theres alot of careless modders out there, or im fucking something up, im guessing its the last one.

Btw, theres some awesome looking modds out there, Rin's face and Hair mod is an awesome one...well...looks like it, wont work >.<

Well, gimme an example of a mod that isn't working. I'm pretty sure you're just confused about something.

Check. The. Link.

The files are usually .esp files thats why your comp doesn't recognise it.

Also check if the mod requires Bloodmoon or Tribunal.

You will need WinRAR to open RAR files. RAR is like ZIP, a format for compressing files.

Why did rar suddenly replace zip files?

Also check if the mod requires Bloodmoon or Tribunal.

Ah yes, but i know for a fact they still come up in the "Data Files" check list since i have one that says "Requires Blood moon, and Tribunal Expansions. These etensions where not found".

Example's of a none working Patchs:

http://www.tadnan-hideout.com/MW/mods/necessities.html
http://www.thelys.org/mods.php?a=TheLys#Seasons

I followed the installation insturctions, but im getting no results =/

"Edited" btw, iv been useing Winrar to do them.

"New imput"

AHA!, got the mother fuckers...bit of advice...dont use Winrar.. Im doing all the patch's by hand and they are now begining to work.

Thanks for all your attempts at trying to help me out, but unfortunately none of you seem to have the pychology degree's to give me the help i truly need, Well off to Vanderfall, catch you all in several hours or so.

Lol, welcome?

Sorry couldn't help much. Never had any problems with mods myself unless they really were crappily done. Some mods would conflict with the others, but then again i had over 70 mods installed the last time i finished the game and the expansions....

Hehe, yeah i know how you feel, I currently have 5 different "Extra Face" replacers going, so iv got a huge variety, i even have a new race installed "Water Elves" got the better bodies, NPC replacer mods going as well.

hehe, level 5, and i already have 50,000g its not who you know, its what you know.

Also, theres some good mods, but iv got a few shit ones, for instance, Quarl's gothic attire mod.... too many glitchs, that and the fact if you try to save the game shuts down, the items where ok, like the black flowing cape and all, but apart from that, it sucked balls.

Annoyingly more then half the mods iv got need Tribunal or Bloodmoon...will have to see a freind about ....obtaining a copy.

Any other mods you guys can suggest?

*looks through mods*

You can find these at Morrowind Summit or one of the other popular mod sites:

-Vivec is a bitch to navigate, so you might want to look at Vivec Restructure 1.1
-Gladiator lets you fight in Vivec's arena and has a nice small sidequest
-Balmora Underwater Manor for a house underwater
-Astarsis High Elves Female Beauty makes those elven ladies' faces look alot better
-Imp Guard Anticlone varies the imperial guard's faces
-Dwemer BioMonitor & Auto-Doc automatically uses potions to heal etc if you're too lazy to do it manually (like me)
-Azriel the Merchant gives a guy who sells anime-ish swords and cool wings
-Particle Weapons Merchant Mod gives a shop in mournhold that sells all sorts of weapons with various cool (and not so cool) particle effects on them.
-Dwemer Sky Glider gives a glider so you can fly all over the place.

Cool AvP mod:

hey! regarding morrowind. I've always thought this was a sweet game, but could never get into it totally because I hate how the quest tracking and journal works, there's NO ORDER to it!

Any of you guys come up with any nifty alternative ways to actually keep track of what's going on in the game, so that you don't have to read through a ton of journal pages each time you come back from taking a little break from the game?

It sounds like you don't have Tribunal or Bloodmoon, because both of those independently add quest sorting.

CanadianIce's Female Robe Replacer is incredible. Wish there was something like that for the men.

Combat Enhanced (http://www.freewebs.com/aerelorn/) makes the combat a lot more interesting and varied, at least for the PC. Each weapon type has it's own special combos, plus a lot more...

Scrolls replaces all of the icons for the scrolls in your inventory, so you can tell what type they are from the icon, and same for Potions.

Disturb the Dead adds a chance (under 25%) of summoning an undead if you open an urn in a tomb. On the upside, it adds better loot, so it's actually worth it sometimes. If you open too many urns, you get marked as a grave robber and aparitions start to visit you and you must visit a Temple to be cleansed.

CharGen Revamped combines Alternate Beginnings and Char Maker. It's nice if you're starting over for the umpteenth time and want something different.

Windows Glow II makes windows glow at night. There are several that accomplish this, but it happens to be the one I use.

The Less Generic NPC Project (http://lgnpc.sabregirl.com/) makes the dialogue in the given city unique for each character, as well as adding some quests or somesuch.

Morrowind Comes Alive adds NPCs just about everywhere, of a great variety. They are generically named (however, there is a mod that names them somewhere), but it does make all the places more alive-looking, and some are actually useful (potion sellers, guards, drunks, etc.)

Partners is a mod that adds NPCs that will be your partner. They have halfway-interesting stories and they're useful.

Laura Craft Romance & Adventure is one of the definitive partner mods if your character is male, has her own backstory with quests and stuff.

There's a lot more but that's what I came up with on a random run through my Morrowind mods.

General Edor, If you could add the links for each of the mods you mentioned, thatd make em more useful

Btw, dont use any mods made bysome one named Quarl, i installed two of his mods, and now my game crashes after 40 seconds of play, So now im uninstalling, and Re'instaling Morrowind >.<

If I don't link, try Morrowind Summit or if that fails, Google.

But just about everything is on Summit.
