Hi all,
Well I'm new to all this gaming lark..although I'm getting to like and understand how it can become addictive..I need to know how you activate the ~ key in a game..I know that this should activate the command console within the game..but just how do you get this to work..I need it explained in straight simple terms..can any 1 help?.
The other reason I'm asking is I'v recently purchased Black Hawk Down..brill game good graphics, but I keeping getting killed when I play the 1st mission..the 50 cal...love the game as I've said but keep getting killed is wearing a bit thin now..would like to advance to the next level..

Err....it should just work when tou hit the tilde, it did for me in BHD.

yeah, just slap that biatch up. Now, if you are a rather silly person and have remapped it to another key, then I would suggest you hit that other key in question rather than the ~ key. Sometimes you hit Shift+` in certain games so try that as well.

Thanx furture man for youre reply...however it sure as hell won't work for me...what type of screen/page or whatever should appear when you press the ~ key?..more view very much welcomed...

k guys..I've defaulted the controls..just in case I did change the ~key...still not working..surely it's not me..could be ...lol..now the ~ works here..so why not in the game...strange one this?

I'm not sure why it doesn't work... but here is a way you might be able to do it:

add console in your shortcut's command line, -console, and see if it works...

This game is a very easy shooter, so you might try to beat it without cheats.. a lor of times player can't stop cheating after they started the first one, and that's reduce the fun to almost nothing...
