I even bought the DVD Platinum edition so I couldn't say it was too many disks to lug around - I still never managed to get too far in the game without getting, well, bored; I finished SoU, and that was fairly interesting - but the main quest, and HotU were pretty dull. I hope they concentrate on building a better game rather than just an engine, this time.

I thought the same until I played the game co-operatively. Finished it and the expansion like that, it rocked. Seriously fucking rocked.

Hopefully the customisation versatility will be just as vast as the original NWN. In which case those screens are even more impressive just for a fact that you will be actually able to create a world such as that yourself with relatively no in-depth experience in level design.

Fucking idiot, it is turn-based. It plays out in real-time. It's fucking D&D dumbass. You don't have to play it to realise that it's turn-based. Why? Picture 8 guys all rolling at once for attacks or such!... Well... Okay, bad example, but still:

It's turnbased, but Bioware did an excellent job of making it real-time looking. And it's pausable anyway. Twit.

EDIT:having read a little more, it turns out that Bioware isn't developing this one but Obsidian. Does anybody know anything about them??

Obsidian is the developer responsible for Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords. What they do the best is to put an already established franchise and completely change it into something else. You will get a pretty good idea if you have seen the movie Doom. People tend to fuck things up when they take their adaptation too seriously. I expect that NWN 2 will be just the same. It will probably has a lot of dark humor, some very fucked up ethics and lots of stupid plot twists that fuck the story up for the sake of fucking the story up. It will be the worst sequel since Homeworld 2...

Then again, i am overly pessemistic. I also once said that Homeworld 2 will be the greatest game ever before it was released, and back then I said Titanic will not sell at all. So don't quote me.

I played NWN and thought it was cool - didn't get any of the expansions. Never tried multiplayer either cause I had dialup then. This looks very nice from the screenshots but I'll have to be in the mood to play another RPG.
