WOOOHOOOO. I got meself the Corsair Twinx 2048 DDR CL2 memory today and Q4 runs like mad. OH yeah baby, let the good times begin.
Q4 @ 1600x1200 High Quality Everything turned on = 35 frames/sec with lows of 20 when a lot of strogg walk in. :(
But I'm tuning it as we speak so I might find a suitable res and turn off some options to get the highest fps and nicest quality.
FUCK YEAH! I rock!

what kind of other HW do you have? I refuse to believe that it was the ram that made the difference...or how much ram did you have?

RAM is where it's at. Too many people seem to think otherwise.

Me and my OCZ 2GB kit are doing just fine with the 2-2-2-5 1T timings, thank you very much.

:( i got 2236 I believe. Ah the difference isn't that big. The difference would've been bigger if you had 2 GB and I 1. Anyhow, nice RAM set, KS.
My other hardware:
Athlon XP 2400
Geforce 6800 256 MB
Audigy 2 ZS
I went from 512 valueram ddr to 2 GB TwinX. Man, I get a hard on from just typing it's name.

my 2nd machine has 2GB over 3 dimms 512/512/1024, however it's strictly for audio, i.e. no games.

And theres your answer, I have ati 9800pro, you have nvidia 6800, and you go from CRAP ram to fairly good ram, thats why you noticed a real difference, I love my ram, I have OCZ (BEST) patinum 1024 (enough) 2-2-2-5 :D
and remember kids, if your using XP, your games can only use half of the total ram, XP doesn't allow one program to use more than half. So if you have 2gig ram, the game only uses 1gig. Be like me, use win2k

I got 1.5 GB of value shit. All games run dandy.

Yeah if you ask me, those timings and everything don't really matter that much. I doubt 2225 ram for instance will get you more than 5 fps above value or other generic ram.

1.5gb hyper super x kingston ram here, lowest timings on the market, i rule

Pagefile is for the OS to do caching when it runs out of space on RAM. But guess you are on XP and its RAM hungry. It's advisable to have the page file turned ON and also on another HDD (not the one on which you have your OS).

Ok, thnx for the advice. I'll put it on some other disk. Is the page file used while playing a game? Cause if not, I'll put it on my games diskdrive.

it can access the pagefile alot when playing games, if the games run out of RAM!
make a new partition and put it there

You'd be surprised.
And also, your CPU is holding you back Chim. It's an Athlon XP! Overclock that bitch!!!

How? The only thing I've ever clocked over is my P3 Which was done by mobo dipswitches. Anyone got an idea how to overclock this thing? BTW, my stock cooler is having enough troubles as it is so I'm not sure whether this is a good idea.

Depending on your mobo, you might be able to OC it in the Bios. I can do it with mine, but haven't experimented yet.

Intel mobos do not require the kind of timings that AMD mobos do. So really Value-Ram, if good, is just as fine as Corsair Ultimate OMG RAM

Well I have no idea how to OC this XP of mine but I think I'll wait until I get some money so I can spend it on a new computer.
I'm thinking of getting an X2. Yes I've read some more about it and I think I qualify as a person who needs a dual core CPU.
