View Full Version : Hello twats. Which fucking card to get? X1800 XL or 7800GT CO

Ok fuckers, I got a fetish for new video cards and shit, and as you all know I fried my fucking motherboard and it never came back, so I have to sell off some shit and buy some new shit. I am hoping for a mid range system with A64 3500+ with some nice A8N SLI (non deluxe mobo), some 2 GB ram and some 520Watts psu. That shit is going to cost me a fortune but luckily, I may have a fucking chance to acquire a new vid card via some relative in the states.

Long story short, I can't burden them for a card above 400 smacks, so I am keeping it tight and getting a lighter solution, and bummed between a 7800GT CO (from evga w/ copper sink and shit) or an X1800 XL from sapphire that clocks to X1800 XT speeds and then some w/ software voltage adjustments which are going to own some serious shit.

So bitches, which card to get. This 6800GT is getting old and not cutting it anymore, I want some raw powa now. X1800 XL looks mighty tempting, only drawback are shit for drivers. Now I have used ATi for a good while and their drivers have been top notch after launch and by december we should have a decent set of drivers. So which fuckin card to get?

Post reasons and vote in the fuckin' poll.

Wait for the X1800. Benchmarks tell me it's faster than the 7800. The only drawback would be the possible shitty drivers ATI is still struggling with and the fact that the card isn't out yet (as far as I know).

7800 is the only way to go these days

Dude X1800 XL is out. I am not opting for the elitest motherfucking shit. I want a decent card to tie me in and I am also leaning towards the X1800 XL. X1800 has lots of features worth checking out.

so are you selling your old card?

I would go for x1800 because ati seems to do better with full AA on..

King Speedy

Yeah, that's why I'd get it too. ATI cards have always taken less of a performance hit with AA and AF on, plus they tend to simply look better, too. If you can, though, wait for the actual X1800 XT.

Wait, so can some ATI cards run on PCI?

King Speedy
October 28th, 2005, 11:01 AM
You mean PCI-Express? Of course. I don't even think they're making any new AGP-compatible cards anymore.

soo...what did you get?

Just keep the 6800 gt.

Well I am pretty much decided on the X1800 XL since it rapes anything around. The damn thing is a beast and can clock to X1800 XT speeds easy. I am not opting for an X1800 XL 512 or X1800 XT 512 since I got no dough. X1800 XL should be fine for now. The 6800GT is already accounted for. Will send it out in a few days.

I am also getting an A64 3500+, ASUS A8N SLI and a few other goodies to go w/ this card. Wish me luck. And keep on voting bitches.

Hahahaha! You call yourself a gamer? I'm ashamed with my 9800Pro, and you admit to owning a MX440? hahaha

Ohh and being an ATI fanboy I'd go for the X1800, though don't take my vote too seriously, as I haven't been keeping up with the graphic wars, so for all I know nVidia may be kicking some serious ATI ass.

I'd say wait till January 2006 or at least Dec, when the new cards are released to the market then get the 7800GT when the prices for it drop. Least, thats what i'm gonna do.

I'm quite proud of my MX440, it can still run alot of shit. :D

Besides, i've been saving my money for a top of the line system:
21' LCD monitor
200GB+ HDD
2GB DDR2 RAM
4800GT
DVD burner
DVD drive

Would be around 4-5k altogether but i hope it will last me at least 3 years.

Well I am looking to get a BFG 7800GTX OC for 350 USD w/ CoD2 and some mouse feet free. That is one fucking sweet deal, now only if it goes through. If it doesn't I will go postal on a few monkeys around here. Damn!

ok i may sound like an idiot saying this but i dont care, i would say ta wait and save some more money and get the X1800XT crosfire version, get a crosfire mobo and crosfire chip, (if that doesnt seem to make sense just ignore it, cause im not very good with comps yet)

King Speedy
November 23rd, 2005, 08:10 AM
You don't need a special crossfire version anymore.
