I need a list for work.

So far I can only think of:

Manhunt
POSTAL 2
The Punisher
GTA:SA
Soldier of Fortune

And I came accross this:

What else...

Kingpin Life of Crime was very violent for its day. Soldier of Fortune games are extremely violent. Postal 2, Manhunt are also right up there. I would consider FEAR as extremely violent due to dismemberment and paintings on the wall. What else, I think Quake 4 qualifies also w/ the whole chopping up of limbs and spiking humans in the chest routine. Can't think of anymore now. GTA games are ofcourse right up there, after the whole media went a-vaul on those games, who can miss them.

spongebob squarepants was pretty violent, on a count of it made me stab my eyes out in frustration.

Mortal Kombat was pretty intense back in the day.

Rise of the Triad. If anyone remembers that. It was a shooter, about 1994 I think. It was extremely violent for its day. Hehe it was fun shooting at a sprite made up of 15 pixels.
Carmageddon was pretty violent as well, the first and the second anyway. The third was just gay.
Serious Sam has that overdone violence theme, that makes it seem nice and gory.

SoF and SoF2 were almost over the top violent. Yet so much fun.

SoF2 wasn't as violent as the first. The first had shotgun dismemberment and people getting shot in the balls and crying. The second had regular shooter violence, nothing too graphic.

Painkiller was pretty violent, but in a funny way. Dismemberment, pinning enemies to the walls and watching them flop around, et cetera. It was like a really gory anime.

It really wasn't all that violent. Exploding bodies, yes. Nailing them to the wall, yes. But compared to even SoF2 it's pretty tame.

Postal²: Apocalypse Weekend7!

It's a mod. It ups the gore quite a bit. And that's a lot considering AW's new dismembermentations!

Here is my list:

Postal 2 - Violent, and actually quite stupid.

Soldier of Fortune II - A good game.

Max Payne 1 & 2 - not over the top gory, but the story is pretty vicious.

Quake 2 - Flies over the dead bodies.

Quake 4 - Pretty twisted.

Doom 3 - Lots of blood and dismemberment throughout the enviroments.

American McGee's Alice - Cartoon characters get squashed, cuts to bits, explode...

Clive Barker's Undying - Pretty sick.

Manhunt - Simply incredible, Sick to the core, and at every level.

The Suffering 1 & 2 - Really good games, and quite bloody sick.

F.E.A.R. - I never played it, but from the screenshots and videos and you guys' words, it rocks.

Blade of Darkness - An oldie, and the control is buggy, but you can chop of limbs and heads.

Postal 2 was pretty retarded, you could piss on yourself :\

Suffering, yes, excellent game. Too bad those motherfuckers used starforce for game number 2. Fuck Ubisoft, if Prince of Persia 3 has starforce, I guess, I will have to fucking disconnect some dvd drives after all and play SCCT and Suffering 2 in the process. Fuck them.

Quake 2 - Flies over the dead bodies.

I recently installed Q2 from the Bonus Disc that came with Q4 and it confirmed my suspicions, the flies only came with the fat machinegun-guy. None of the other bodies have that. Really odd.

The Warriors, sure it's new and only available for Ps2 and the Xbox but it looks good as shit.. it might satisfy the fix for ingame violence that GtA started.. funny as it's also made by Rockstar.

Watch the videos.

Shadow of Rome for PS2 is pretty violent. Lots of blood, and you can even cut off the limbs of an enemy, pick one up and then start beating him with it.

mafia, doom3, kingpin, vietcong are a couple from my list

Doom³ wasn't all that violent.

Mafia wasn't very violent at all. At least not in our sense. It was very mature about violence and sex. That's one of the reasons I loved it, it treated me like an adult playing a mature game instead of some GTA-clone shoving unwanted blood and profanity down my throat...

Vietcong? Was it really all that violent? All I played was the demo and I don't remember it even having death-skins...

Heh. Re: Blade of Darkness; you could not only chop of limbs and heads, you could use them as weapons.

:D Heh...I forgot about that. God I loved lopping off heads in that game!

Postal² & Apocalypse Weekend.

One of the Unreals, right? Maybe not...

Man, that Blade of Darkness... That was fun. Not overly good, but fun.

I have to agree with you there. Graphics were decent...controls a little weird...but for some reason I just loved playing that game. I think I played it all the way through as each of the characters plus the barbarian at least twice.

I'm really not exactly sure why I liked playin so much. It could be those moments when you snuck up behind a goblin, lopped half of its upper torso off with one big swing of your sword...then picking up that torso and throwing at the other guards to show em what you were about to do to them. :D

Definately creative use of gore there. That's probably why I apreciate it more than just gibs and blood flying.

I think the reason Blade of Darkness got me hooked was because of all the moves the characters can perform. It was for the same reason I kept playing Oni. I so wish Bungi either make another Oni game, or let some other companies do it.

One thing: BoD mods. There's a few that're just plain kewl. Namely the arena in which you can pit creatures against others. It's fun watching knights (the PC version) go at it. They're so good they kill in about 1-2 hits and they dodge and block. Fun stuff.

What? No mention of Rayne? All those severed limbs, all that spilled blood, all those impalements, and that red, red hair and we can't get no lovin' for BloodRayne? Ain't this a shame...

How is that gory?

Dark_Swordmaster
December 12th, 2005, 07:55 PM
He didn't show the one where you cut off all the limbs.

Either way Rayne is simple bloody, not violent. Manhunt was violent because you beat the guy's testicles up into his nose, not just because blood flew out.

Yeah Bloodrayne 2 was pretty violent, especially when she impales and then rotates a guy on one blade and cuts of all his limbs with the other

Diablo II: Lord of Destruction. A lot of severed body parts lying about and a 90% nude she-demon. I love it.

Quake 4 was the only game that made me go "Now that is some twisted fucked up shit right there"

I don't know if I would call it violent or just sick and twisted. Damn those filthy Stroggs.
