Brad and Angie silence wedding rumours
Sick of being asked about their relationship, and with rumours of a pre-nup
already inked, actors Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have banned foreign
journalists from their press conferences in Japan while they tour the country
to promote Mr and Mrs Smith.
The celebrity couple jet into Tokyo tonight, and say they and will only field
questions from the Japanese media about their professional lives, according to
website Handbag.com.
They'll hit Japan straight from Pakistan, where Jolie, 30, traded in her designer
frocks for a headscarf and shawl as she visited survivors of the Pakistan
earthquake with Pitt, 41.
The actress, a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations, was almost
unrecognisable as she met refugees in the crisis-hit country.
The pair traveled aboard a helicopter carrying food, blankets and plastic
sheets to victims.
The October quake left more than 73,000 people dead and millions homeless.
Jolie and Pitt visited a remote village in a valley, the town of Balakot and a
tent camp for survivors, refugee agency officials said.
She has travelled to more than 20 countries for the UN High Commissioner for
Refugees since taking up her goodwill ambassador role in August 2001.
And this was her third visit to Pakistan for the UN.
She told a press conference: "It's a huge situation.
"Nobody sitting at home has any idea what this really looks like. It's
unbelievable."
Pitt was not at the press conference in Islamabad.
The pair have been romantically linked since Pitt split from wife Jennifer
Aniston in January.
Jolie added: "There's so many wonderful pledges of money that could come in
the next few years, but this winter is in the next few weeks.
"So many people are in danger of possibly freezing to death."
Jolie said she was particularly moved by one little boy about the same age as
her four-year-old son Maddox.
She said: "He was so happy because his sister survived the earthquake and
they didn't think she would."
