So I was working on a proposal for school and had Samurai Champloo playing in background and my PC all of a sudden just blacked out. Power light and busy light were both on still, though the busy was lit constant, no blinking. I take out what I think may be a problematic RAM slot, still nothing. Nothing visually on Video Card saying it went bad, I mean small markings on where small circuits moght have fried themselves. The fan was running and it was not that hot upon touch, norm temps for me. So I restarted after reseating the video card and no POST beeps at all. Wondering if my mobo finally gave out, Asus P4C800. Taking it in tomorrow to have my old coworkers take a look at it. But yea main point is I lost all the work I had done on my proposal due Tuesday.

Try taking your video card out and turning the computer on (unless I read wrong, you only reseated it). I had a faulty PCI GeForce 2 a long time ago that would prevent the computer from POSTing (power on, blank screen, no post and no beeps). I'm not sure if AGP cards can do the same (I'm betting they can), but It's wortha shot. I mean, it obviously won't fix the problem, but if the computer posts with the card out, then at least you know what the cause is.

Ya know, MSWord autosaves every few minutes or so, so you might be able to recover your work pretty easily.

That's good to here that you're back in business, I know how it sucks to have hardware crap out.

Yeah. That's almost the same board I got. Go into bios and turn on the diagnostics and make sure your speakers are plugged in. It should tell you exactly what the problem is. ie "CPU failed test." "GPU failed test." "Ram failed test." Some sexy lady should talk out of your speakers.
