Does ActionTrip do any of their own journalism, or is it all just regurgitation?

Well, how much jounalism is there in gaming really, besides reading press releases and the ocational forum posts from devs, and of course the reviews...?

i'd say little. I've seen about 3 AT exclusives over the last 4 years

I don't think there's a lot of journalism to be done when it comes to games. Everything is a press release or released to the major sites first.

Well, I know that they go to E3 and such. So I'd assume it's close to any other site. Maybe not the big dogs like shacknews, some such. But that's why I like Atrip.

It'd be nice if Atrip had more editorials. I love reading editorials.

My editorials are too, uhhh, "aggressive" to publish.

Then post some cool shit on here; I love reading your opinion.

Yeah, I have the same feeling that ATrip doesn't have much of its own thing. The comics are really cool, though.

journalism = effort. im sure 2lions is getting a decent amount of cash for minimal effort, so why would he bother doing more? besides, i thought this was an independant gaming site, not IGN

I think 2lions has put a fair share of effort in this site...its really hard to start a working site that pays you every month.

We need extremely fat people to post their pictures on this site, so I can allude to them in a comical way.

I think it's easy to overlook how much effort goes into something when you're not the one putting that effort into it, or having to make it work. I don't know how frequently Digital Limit (or anyone else who commented for that matter) reads this site, but a fair bit of writing and editorial content is published in one form or another (reviews, opinions in the news posts, comics, etc.) All I know is that I cover the news, do the daily morning posts, reviews, comics and God knows what else, and I've been doing that for 6 years on this site. Imagine that you have to keep communicating with an audience and keep them interested in what you have to say for 6 freaking years, and then doing all the other work that comes on top of all that. Not to mention that we have daily updated cheats, files and such things on this site.
First of all, it would be impossible to do everything on my own, so we actually do have an office with full time employees: editors, programmers and such. And then on top of that I have to cover all the relevant news for nearly 12 hours in a day, even though I may not choose to run all the three million press releases I get a day. And I do it on a fucking Saturday as well, when most people are enjoying their weekend.
Don't get me wrong though, I'm not complaining, I love this job and it's still a labor of love for me, but to say that not a lot of work goes into this. Well I can only chuckle a bit at a comment like that.
Then again, such views and opinions are understandable I guess and I accept them.

And Im right again :)
but to be fair, DL asked how much jounalism, not how much work. Though he could have ment work.
I read Journalism as in what you write yourself, like the reviews. Correct me if im wrong.

We all appreciate your effort, 2lions. Actiontrip gives us a place to waste our lives!

I think I'll stay out of this conversation, for fear of climbing any further inside 2Lion's bung.

one thing i liked about the site though is that only the quality and the good stuff go up into the site, and not necessarily all the other junk

Whoa, hold up: I didn't mean to undermind your efforts and the content you provide.
Personally, I don't frequent the main page; I never found myself able to register to get the Plus benefits, so I opted to grab an insider pass instead. I guess it's some kind of subconcious urge to belong to the place I get all my information. Never the less, I just offered the question to find out if there's a good reason for me to drop by here and scower the news when I've already done so somewhere else. Given ActionTrip doesn't do any of their own investigative work and isn't the center of press releases or other cutting edge news, I see that there isn't much of a reason, unless I get my jollies off reading your comics (which, I occasionally do).
But yeah, jumping back: No offense intended. And I like the new colors :)

are you kidding? theyre my favourite bit
i reckon actiontrip would survive even if 2lions stopped posting gaming news, just as long as he kept the comics, the morning posts and the botd. and by that i mean, thats the only reason why most people come here - giggles and boobs.
other than that, it really is nice to have a place you can go to and see all the important stuff on one nice list, rather than have to scour your way through IGN and co to find something halfway stimulating
