Alright, i've got a Geforce mx 400 PCI that I want to put into my comp but it will not accept it! everytime I put it in and turn the computer on it makes two beeping sounds (running XP as well), everysingle friggin time, I also disable the crappy Intel onboard grafix control. Next the monitor will also fail to turn on. If anyone has any advice.......thinkn' about selling it and getting an ATI grafix card. :(

did you uninstall your previous monitor's drivers?

hey... it might sound stupid, but it might be your rams that makes beeping sound! Hahaha... joking.
I would go with your second idea. Buy a new card. By the time you get your GeForce "MX" to work, you will have more problems such as drivers, speed, stability... because it is such a freaking old card!

If your mobo has AGP get a Geforce 4 Ti4200. If you arent on a budget the ATI Radeon 9700 Pro is nice. That old card really isnt worth bothering with to try to get it working.

Wow don't get too excited here... You think his mobo can handle a 9700 just because it has an AGP slot? Better find out first, buddy!

Do have that kinda money handy. I need something with 64 MB of memory and under 150.

Have you tried pricewatch.com? And if you are into playing DOOM 3, you better look beyond 64 MB.
Just a suggestion. 64 MB should be just fine...

i think u dont have to disable ur onboard card coz if u have a pci graphics card u got to have the onboard running till in the os u install its drivers and it takes over , second part i think the beaps are of ur ram coz they beap when they r conflicting , and the third thing maybe is the hard disc if it has physical damage ,
