I just saw King Kong, and boy, if you miss this at the cinema, you are a noob.

Wonderful film overall, and I urge the ignorant among you to see it. It may be 3 hours long, but it is 3 worthwhile hours.

The trailers do it absolutely no justice. It delivers more than you can possibly expect in all departments. Kong himself dominates the entire film, from his first introduction to his demise.

Some of the action scenes were somewhat cheesy and overdone, i.e the dinosaur stampede and most of the characters miraculously suriving it etc. But this in no way detracts from the overall enjoyment of the movie.

Despite being the big muscle bound stud that I am, this movie almost made me cry. I had to shamefully supress my tears. Only a select few films have ever done that to me, and they were all classic masterpieces.

Well, enough said, see it on the big screen you noobs.

Well 70% of the movie is nothing but action packed special effects and Kong rampaging around, fighting t-rex's and throwing people around.

10% is kong and his damsel looking at each other with tears in their eyes (if only kong had genitals, then we could have seen some beastiality) , and 20% is character development and setting the scene of the movie before the action starts.

Well it does leave you with that feeling. It is quite sad at the end, as it should be. You feel both sad for Kong and the despicable humans that snuffed him.

But you should still definately see it on the big screen, and make sure it's a decent theatre. The quality of the cinema works wonders for a film this big. I saw it on one of the biggest and newest screens in Australia. Price of admission? $7.50 AU. I feel sorry for the people that will end up seeing it on some small piece of shit screen or worse, on DVD.

There is one cute scene that is still with me even after all these hours, and it's where the big hairy ape and his bitch are playing in a park, sliding around on some ice, sharing a final highly intimate moment just before Kong's hairy non existant genitals are snuffed. So pretty and sad....

Well I almost cried because even though I knew Kong dies at the end, he died in such a sad way, that it's sad. That was the only really sad part anyway, most of the film is Kong owning shit.

Kong, throughout all the movies, including the original, and then the subsequent remakes, has never had genitals. Its a well known piece of kong trivia. Kong is sterile. He (if it is a he) can't mate.

To see all the awesome special effects and kickass action. That's why you watch it. The end is just sad. It's not worth watching the entire film 'just' to see the end. The end is just downright depressing. :( Enjoy all the other shit, forget about the end.

Well I saw it earlier, awesome movie. Andy Serkis did a great job playing Kong, they did motion capture again like with Gollum. I absolutely loved how they got the behavior of a gorilla across in Kong, made he so much more human and really showed how close we are to them in our most basic primal form and how we can communicate even though we've taken different evolutionary routes. It really payed off for Serkis to go study gorillas for a week in Kenya, he went against Peter Jackson's wishes becasuse he feared Serkis would be hurt. Everybody was great in their parts, especially Jack Black playing a character he was made for, but in a different tone. The effects were top notch. I loved all the Skull Island stuff, sure it dragged a bit at the end, but it was great none the less. It brought genuine tension to some scenes like the guys stuck in the bug canyon, the subtle music just topped off the scene as well, the bugs brought me genuine shivers and creeps. The dinosaur effects were great too, especially the 3 versus 1 fight of Kong Versus the three Velociraptor-Trexes.

My favorite scene in the movie was when Kong owned that Velociraptor-TRex in the face, literally

It was somewhat satisfying watching his pretty frozen corpse sink to the bottom of the ocean. I was a little disapointed she didn't follow him, being fat and all and taking up the whole piece of wreckage just so that her fat ass could be out of the cold water made her deserving of death.

At least the dolphins and sharks would have had more succulent flesh to eat. What a fat bitch. I loved her tits though. I could chew on those myself, I would throw the rest to the sharks, and dolphins, don't forget the dolphins.

I have the original version of King Kong on video tape, it was quite an achievement back when it was made as far as the 'movie magic'. The remake in the 1970's was dull, I liked the original better. I saw the previews for this recent version and hope to see it soon.

Btw, Here's this 'top 10 list of movie monsters'.

I agree with a few of them, but many of them I don't. Dracula, The Alien, and The Preditor didn't make the list and I think they were far more interesting monsters than Chucky, The Gillman and The giant muntant ants. I think he's trying to keep in context too that some of these monsters were very original for their time...and of course new technology will make for neater monsters.
