Ok, about...3-4 weeks ago my brother went out and bought himself NWN Diamond edition for about $74 at EB. And get it home to find it requires a DVD rom, so 2 weeks later when he rembers, he buys himself DVDrom and CD Wrighter.

Finally he gets around to installing the DVD rom/wrighter installs NWN and makes a character, seocnd he gets into actual gameplay, he gets what he refers to as "the Black Screen of Death" eg his screen goes black, and he has to reset his computer.

Now, Iv installed it on my comp and played it without issue, so he asks the Bioware forums, and ges a bunch of shit box repplies saying its his settings ect. Now, my Brothers computer exceeds all the games Req's So grapics arent the issue. Only suggestion he's gotten that makes sence is Atari have installed this shitty Security software that wont let him play it on a comp that has a DVD wrghter on it.

What im After Is a no CD crack fro NWN's diamond. Bioware have stated that a no CD crack is not illegal if you keep a coppy of the game on you. Now im no good at telling a good place to get a crack from a bad one, so i figure, come to you guys, youll either tell me to go fist myself with the box, Or simply give me links to Shock site... Probly shouldnt list those idea's but..yeah. Frankly i dont care myself.

If any of you know of the cause of this that's fix doesnt require some form of Crack, cocaine or other form of "Illegal" material please tell me, cause $75 for a game that wont let you play it due to a shitty security system is fucking retarded.

Have him turn his settings all the way down. I exceed the settings like mad, but I still get slowdown. And if he has an ATi card, that's probably the cause. ATi and NWN don't get along. Shouldn't even be in the same room together.

And if it's 75, he got ripped. It's retail is 30. That's what I got it for (29.99 + tax). If he got it for 75, I'm sorry, but that's twice and a little over, thus he deserves to be treated like a moron.

If not, you can try either gamecopyworld, or megagames, but first I recommend that you try to tweak it to fix before you actually go into a no-CD path. They usually just mean hassle.

Might be AUS. Not sure what the exchange is.
Also, has he updated his graphics drivers as well? What kind of card is he running?

yeah, he says he's tried lowering all the graphics, but he's not going to as someone tried to tell him "disable, then enable" his graphics and sound card

seems no matter what he's tried it just dies on him.

ntw, that australian dollars, every game that comes out is about $100 for the first 6 months. Star Craft is still lie..$20-30 down here =/

Well, il get him to try tweaking the settings again before resorting to thingy cracks

This is just a crazy guess, but I'd check the ATI website.

Yeah. Pull down the latest drivers for the card, and while you're at it pull down the updates for NWN as well. I don't have Diamond - stopped at Platinum, since I wasn't particuliarly interested in Kingmaker - but even when I got that, the game wasn't fully up to date.

Diamond should be fully updated. It was when I bought it.

I bought it because all I had was NWN and the discs were at my buds, so for $10 less and 15 less discs, HELL YEAH!

NWN + ATI = No love? Shit, I guess I won't bother getting Diamond then. Unless. is there a way to make it all work?

BTW We get ripped of for games royally down here. Exchange rate is 1.0 AUD to 0.75USD, and if the game retails here for about 65, it would probably be cheaper for us to buy our games off amazon

I'm running ATi and it runs fine, but it just has some unusual slowdown and you can't have shiney water turned on (unless you like crashes). Go ahead and get it and you and I can start up characters on a persistant world server and grief. RPG players get pissed when you continually ask "How do i shot"

BTW: ATi has noticed this glitch and plans on having Bioware fix it next patch. Rediculous...
