Currently who makes the best Sound Card on the Market? Is it Creative because I don't know who is a really good manufacturer to get one from. Most likely I will choose creative just for the simple fact that everyone I know has one. Right now I am using some junky on-board sound I got with my motherboard. Its not that great because lately I have noticed that the sound is kind of scratchy. When I play the music it sounds more like I am listening to the radio with my headphones. Maybe its due to drivers who knows. Well, if anyone would like to recommend a good company that makes sound cards please let me know. Otherwise, something from Creative will probably be my choice.
Thx all

I have a Creative SB Live Value soundcard with 4.1 channel support and its really good...(two yrs old). You could spring for an Audigy 2 or maybe the Platinum series. Hercules is the other company I have heard about but I would place my bets on Creative...

If you get a Creative SoundBlaster card, compare it to any onboard sound system. Not only the quality pf the sound, but how they take advantage of your speakers! Some onboard shit play sounds from only one speaker!
Yep, I would recommend you a Crative soundcard as well. They basically monopolized the sound market these days...

lol, well, i grabbed my old creative soundblaster live value from my old dell system. much better than on-board sound, i could tell a big difference in quality b/c when i listen to mp3s with on-board it sounds all scratchy but when i use my soundcard its all crisp and clear =D

Creative is the only way for a gamer, there is a HUGE difference between creative cards and others, in battlefield you cant even tell where the damn soldiers come fromwith something like sant cruz, the rocket sounds were way off, but creative isnt perfect either, their drivers suck badly and if you have VIA motherboard you might run into big problems like sounds hicups and distortion or even slow preformance...
No1's perfect I guess, my best advice would be to get rid of VIA motherboard as I'm planing to do that myself and get Audigy2.
