Continue to encounter and battle various figures straight out of Greek mythology
Take advantage of an improved climbing combat system, claim Icarus' wings, ride Pegasus, and earn various special powers and magical abilities
Out for the PS2 and NOT the PS3

Yay, more insane combos with the chain blades! This is the kind of game they want to put on PS2, it will be a strong seller and they know how the tech and software of the PS2 works so they can do a lot more things instead of you being able to see every pore and drop of sweat on Kratos's pale face and claim that as a next-gen gaming step. I'm very excited for the game and I can't wait. Hopefully it will deal with his brother and whatever he has to settle with him as he says in the end credits.

This is like a crazy rumor but I recall reading some where that Kratos's brother will be playable during certain missions

PS3 is fully backwards compatible then "technically" it will be out for PS3...it just won't have fancy graphics.

I've been tempted to buy a PS2 just to play this game but then after reading about it, it sounded as though it was the PS2's answer to Ninja Gaiden. That's not a bad thing but NG got old REAL fast. After about 4-5 hours of playing I never picked it up again. GoW, is it worth it?

GOW is an amazing game and I've played it over 5 times. I still can't beat it on very hard though. I just wish they would have waited and made a PS3 GOW instead of milking the already and putting the second game on the PS2. Most games that they do this with (Ratchet and Clank as example) ends up feeling like a simple expansion. I'm hoping with GOW 2 it's different. No matter I'm sure I will end up getting it.

What the jizzman said. Ninja gaiden got old fast, with God of War, it never gets old, until you beat it and then want to play again. Dammit why did I ever sell off my PS2. :(. Fuck shit. Now I will have to repurchase for this game alone :rolleyes:.

OMFG so much more than the first game, bows, pegasus, griffins, skeletons, huge stone minatours(sp?). The interview on 1Up was good and there are going to be a few more God of War games too. They know how long Kratos's story will be and how many games it will take. I love the director's line "Kratos has now spent time with the gods...The backstabbing gods of Olympos" February 2007 can't get here soon enough, and the game will look even better on the PS3 with the stuff it will do to PS2 games like AA and such.

Definately, I screamed with joy when I saw him rip a cyclops's fucking eye out.. Oh and the last bit where he tears of the wings of that gyphon is supposedly one of the mini games....

I also liked when the God of War Theme slowly began playing. They need to make a fucking movie out of the first game and it would work as well, it a great story for a movie, not to deep like Silent Hill, just don't let Uwe Boll anywhere near it. With all the self-conflict in Kratos it looks like type of film Ridley Scott could do.
