Yo what up people! It's been a good while since I posted a thread or even really kept up with the forums. I'm trying to find some good bands or songs that I can put on my PSP to listen to on the go. Mainly I'm curious to know what some of your favorite songs are at the moment. If you know any new kick ass bands or songs that would be cool to listen to when ever let me know. I mainly listen to bits of heavy metal, rock, techno, some mellow stuff here and there. If you know of anything kinda industrial and kinda rockish with some techno in it that would be great. I'm just trying to find anything really interesting though. I don't really care much for rap or country or any of that teenage pop shit though.

In preparation for the upcoming Bonnaroo, I've been on a serious jam-band binge lately, with my playlist rarely varying from Galactic, The Motet, and similar groups. The music is probably about as far from heavy metal as you can get, but as far as chill-out tunes go, in my opinion it can't be beat.

Most of the music I listen to these days is from various Netlabel's that have released music under the Creative Commons License (torrents can be found on: http://www.legaltorrents.com/). Other than that I normally just listen to Classical, Alternative Rock, or Oldies Shoutcast stations.
http://www.sectionz.com/ is also a nice site with music from various independent artists.

Panic annoys me, they sound a bit different, but at the same time, they sound exactly the same as so many bands out there. I just don't think they live up to the hype about them.
If you're looking for heavier stuff, you can hardly go wrong with Nothingface, Ill Nino (too lazy to see how to do the little ~ thing above the n), Soil, or Korn.

Eh, I don't care for them much. They have decent guitar work on some songs, but I can't stand the type of screaming that the guy does, it just sounds ugly.

Looks like I'll be the voice for the more mainstream rock scene here...
System of a Down- Hypnotize/Mesmerize, amazingly excellent double album.
The newest Audioslave album (Out of Exile) is good, but I liked their first album better.
I've also been listening to Soundgarden's "Superunknown" lately, that's a great one.
At this precise moment, I'm listening to Cake's "Fashion Nugget" which I like a lot.
Also, new Chili Peppers coming out very soon!

Something that might be a bit harder to find, but a good band to check out might be Sub Dub Micromachine. I can only find about six of their songs, but I like them a lot, it's a different sound.

You have to get used to his screaming; kinda like Bruce Dickenson or Rob Halford. Their 2000 album titled Follow the Reaper kicks some serious ass.

Metal & Hardcore, I've got some great new shit for ya. I wasnt able to find em though torrents so I ended up having to pay for em. If you've got iTunes then just search their music store so you can preview em.
The Warriors - War is Hell (my current fav. disc. So fucking hard)
Since By Man - A Lovehate Relationship EP (Kinda like "The Bled" & only $3.98 on iTunes!)
Death Before Dishonor - Friends, Family, Forever (new hardcore band with an oldschool vibe)
The Banner - any album (another great new H/C band)
Folly - Insanity Later (a Hardcore/Ska hybrid that just totally rocks)
Curl Up And Die - any album
When Tigers Fight (brand spankin new band that I cant stop listening to. They only have an EP out that's like 7 minutes long, but it's a solid 7 min.)
The Casualties - On the Front Line (fast and angry punk rock. amazing CD)
Terror (good ol fashioned Hardcore)
Unearth - all discs (my fav. metalcore band. some of the greatest, and fucking complicated guitar riffs out there right now)

Oops. Reading the other posts:
Yeah, I feel stupid. I left out Tool, Filter, and Clutch.
Those are the ones you need before you die.

Download some 3 Inches of Blood. Unless you're a death metal make up wearing queer that believes music should be as noisy as possible instead of real music, there's no way you aren't going to enjoy Advance And Vanquish. Battlecry Under A Winter Sun isn't as clean, but it has its moments.
Also, this (http://www.prog4you.com/cd-reviews-02-06/Iron_Mask.htm) is good shit.
