I'm pro buying the REAL DEAL - although nowadays software developers (codemasters - you cunts) are having a negative effect on my outlook.

Filesharing is for pussies, use newsgroups or mIRC.

Newsgroups sucks. 56k'ers are all on there whining and bitching 'cause they can't download one part of your post. Then they call you a lameass for not reposting. Then you stop posting. irc is better.

There should be an option for:
I download the warez version first, if i like it, i buy it.
And
I have to download warez because i'm a poor bastard.
And
I've got enough money, but i'm not gonna spend it if i don't have to.

But seriously, would you buy a game you've downloaded? Maybe that is the way to go... The last few games I've bought were utter crap. The last good game I bought must have been splinter cell. Freelancer is not too bad either - I still think they should have included flightstick with forcefeedback - with the mouse flying cargo is so repetitive and boring.

If i thought the game was worth my money, then i would buy it after downloading. Since i'm on 56K i can't download anything bigger then 200Megs (And even thats a little too much), so i would have to download a RIP that has no movies, and probably missing any type of speach used for single player missions. And in times like that, spending the extra money to get the speach, movies, and in some cases multiplayer, its worth it to spend the money to buy it after downloading. But i don't download warez, goddamn but pirates........;)

pirated cds it is for me.. coz ur developers wont release the fucking games in Pakistan.. but it is all cool here as we get a new game for .5 bucks and if it is on 2 cds then for a dollar.. and i am happy with that considering that i dont play online.. lan sometimes due to shitty 56k.. hence i dont give a flying fuck abt cd keys etc.. so i just get every fucking game i can get my hands on.. and i think i have played em all.. muhahaha.. no d/l or file sharing crap for me.. i dont even want to call those cds pirated as they are legit considering the developers dont come here at all.. so they have no rights to those cds anyways..
Thank the heavens for no copyright laws.. :D

South Africa was there a few years ago - you could buy the odd original at a huge price and only months after it was released. Nowadays we have lots of distributors - EA is probably the biggest in SA.
Pirate CD's cost in the order of $10 here - a blind fucking ripoff. South Africa does however (read it somewhere) have the fastest growing pirate market for both DVD's and PC games.

10 bucks for pirated cds.. no wonder u had all the copyright shit over there.. here the distributors cant afford to come in the first place.. so we are quite happy with the market for dvds, cds, music cds, ps2 cds, xbox games.. etc etc.. we get it dirt cheap here compared to other places and as for growing market.. all we have is pirated cds and a shitload of them.. i wonder what do u call that.. a growing market.. nah!.. i think a mature market.. definitely.. btw dvds cost here for 2-3 bucks.. lol.. who wants the original.. basically u cant tell the difference even.. though with pc cds u need cracks and all that shit..

Our government did a right thing when they bought the Linux and made it an open source OS. By doing this the government was able to protect the consumers from becoming the victims of monopoly, such as Microsoft.

what does open-source mean?
unskinnybob

Open source means that anyone can pretty much change whatever they want. That is what Linux is all about - by leaving the source open to the world to tinker with the Linux comunity keeps growing and new ideas, tools, trinkets and other kinds of shit added at a speedy pace. I believe the standard Microsoft reply to the question "Can I have your OS' source code" is "Go and fuck yourself".
