Is anyone else here besides myself playing this game?

So yeah I am way late since I only bought the game today but I have to say that once ingame it completely blew me away.. don't get me wrong as it's the same shit new eyecandy and interface but it's so new and innovative to the franchise that it stands out alot. The new campaign mode setting is nothing like what I was expecting, it's above and beyond what I could have hoped for.. congrats to this rts release, they finally got their shit right.

Btw has anyone tried the world campaign using the Tau, I tried using them twice on the Normal setting and I got my ass spanked both times even on the first mission.. I restarted the campaign using the SpaceMarines and all is well, after playing with all the new races thoroughly I have to say that they are indeed my favorite.

I agree, the Tau are really cool, but very ineffective. I still gotta go with the space marines.

And also thats a no, youre not the only one playing

Yeah I have tried the Tau, I think that they need to rethink the balance or something, the Tau are suppose to be long range heavy hitters but in the game they are lightweight and easily killed off.. their animations are cool as shit though, especially the way the broadsides dig-in before firing.. the Necron are seriously over powered.

I see this game as having alot of longevity, I am currently playing through the campaign as two different factions, SM and Necron. I have to add Tau to that list tomorrow.

If you can use all of the stealth features of the tau you can kick some ass

The single player is pretty damn cool too.

Try saying that when i'm blowing your shit up with my Broadsides and Hammerheads while raping your army with my Kroot.

But my favourite race now is Necrons. Damn they're badass.

lol has anyone figured out the Tau? So what is it with them, they are suppose to be able to duke it out with the best of them.. maybe I am missing a combo or something but I have not mastered their style yet, I will try some Kroot action as the Tau alone simply can't hold their own.

Space marines FTW! Although , the imperial guard has its moments too(who am i kidding, BaneBlade is teh AssKicker!)

Now, a question for those who finished the campaign
In the last video, when they show the planets with little explosion and such, and then, a big 2007. Is any other sequel coming in 2007 that you guys are aware of? I NEED TO KNOW! ZOMG! THE ANXIETY!1

Mayhaps the Tyranids...

Personally, I'm surprised a race like the Necrons came out before the Tyranids, considering how overpowered the former are. I suppose Relic and THQ didn't want to incorporate a race yet that's too reminiscent of StarCraft.

I don't think that those fuckers will stop until all the races are ingame, well they will have my sale.. around here I get them for $20 a pop brand new so i'm loving it.

As with all the other DoW releases I warez and beat the games, in a month or so once they hit the $10-20 bargain bin I go out and buy them.

Its the other way round. Starcraft is an almost direct copy of WH40K.

Perhaps, but from the perspective of the RTS industry, it won't seem that way. The only people who will appreciate the truth are the minority few that are familiar with the board game, and were so back before 1998 and StarCraft's blockbuster release.

As such, the tables in the RTS market are turned about, and it's Warhammer: 40K that needs to avoid looking too much like a StarCraft clone, despite the truth in fact.
