The Weekly's a bit skewed thanks to the new Mayer album, which I love, but the Overall's pretty accurate. I'd probably put my top 3 as Doughty, CS, and DMB. The order's just thrown off by the number of albums they've got.

This is fucking awesome. Even after a year of listening it never gets old. Imagine the skill of Yngwie Malmsteen but with actual music. But it's not just music, it's some of the best power metal ever created, Dushan Petrossi's 'Hordes Of The Brave' with IRON MASK. Ignore the previous one though, I've heard high-school bands make better music than Revenge Is My Name. The difference is greater than that between Metallica's Kill Em All and St. Anger.

^Give me a break. Audioslave is a great band. The problem is that Audioslave is constantly judged for what it's not rather than what it is. Audioslave is not what you get when you mix Superunknown with The Battle Of Los Angeles; it's good in its own right. I'm of the opinion that "I Am the Highway" is one of the best songs ever written.

I'd have to say Superunknown. Then again, that was also more current for my age at the time of release, so that probably makes me biased. In 1991 (Badmotorfinger) I was only 7 years old.

as for what im listening to now, im not really a fan of emo and popular radio friendly punk but the new My Chemical Romance album is pretty good. Except for a few typical emo songs, theres a certain energy in their music which keeps them away from the whiny emo theme. Influences range from Pink Floyd's The Wall, to Queen all the way to old Green day and Offspring in certain cases. I guess the emo bands are finally growing up after getting dumped over and over again by their girlfriends :P

I've heard the new song QWERTY and i agree is sounds a lot more up-to-date (meaning punk) and it's overall a lot more agressive than commercial Nu-Metal (which died a few years back). Bad part is they try to sound like something else. This is not necessarily a bad thing since all bands have to evolve, but if I've ever heard the song for the first time without being told it was them, i would prolly never be able to tell it's Linkin Park (xept maybe for the rapping). I did hear the live version though, maybe the studio version will have that missing LP sound. As for the other new stuff, i haven't heard it yet but they will prolly mellow it down a bit or else they might lose the popular fan base and radio airtime (which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but I wouldn't want this band to die out just like Limp Bizkit did with their last album... yea you prolly didn't even know they had a last album come out... it bombed)

Such an underrated album. It's too bad the Chilis have dissowned it (they don't play tracks off it in concert), because though some of it isn't great (Flea shouldn't sing. OHM was great; other than the ones listed Deep Kick, Pea, Shallow Be Thy Game, and Transcending were great. Loved the whole album, but Falling Into Grace was my least favorite. Navarro didn't add anything that John could do better. By The Way wasn't so bad, they did have some songs on the album that still are good: Don't Forget Me, Warm Tape, Venice Queen, and of course Can't Stop. Tear was a pretty powerful song even though it was kind of out there. Blood Sugar Sex Magic and Stadium Arcadium are must haves.

Queens of the Stone Age- Era Vulgaris
I come to QOTSA from a mainstream radio. I first heard of them when “No One Knows” shot them up the charts. I’ve liked a lot of their stuff, but never enough to buy an album, at least until I heard “Make it Wit Chu”. On the strength of that song I bought Era Vulgaris, and it is great. It’s got a great groove to it. Asides from Make it Wit Chu (which is just a fantastic, fantastic song), it’s got excellent songs which cover a fair amount of ground. At times, Era Vulgaris feels like it’s carrying on the spiritual mantle of Soundgarden, and not in a derivative way either. Underpinning the album is rich vocal work that has a slightly eerie, dissonant feel to it. All in all, its an awesome album
