The last time I played on any type of console was when sega was just starting out. Since then it was pc all the way.
Last weekend on a whimsical impulse I went and bought a fucking PS2 and a couple of games. This weekend I dished out almost the same amount for a fucking steering wheel to run GT4. WTF is happening to me....

I love the PS2, started to play mine again recently. The best part is the massive number of highly rated used games around. What games did you get?

well my pre condition when driving to the shop was that GT4 had to be there, because I've been waiting for that game to come to pc since forever, and they never ported it. So it was there...
The other games were Tomb Raider Legends, GTA San Andreas and Tiger Woods 2006.
I'm just waiting for Mortal Combat Armageddon now.

Grand theft auto has made me buy 2x PS2's. Of course, like Cr3am pointed out, load times are long enough to make the baby Jesus cry.

yeah... so far the load times are the only thing that make me wanna step on it. It's amazing though how small it has become - it's barely the size of a dvd case now.
can you play lan with GTA? I was also considering getting another ps2 for gt4 - playing splitscreen is worse that fucking a dry cunt.

I would recommend getting a steering wheel to anyone that likes racing games. It just makes the experience totally worth it and will have you giggling like a little fag the first time you use it.
I feel like such a Limit...

In my opinion the ONLY game worth playing with a steering wheel is "Live for speed"... GT isn't bad with a wheel, but its so much easier with the gamepad.

You're right - it is easier with the controller, but I actually wanted the more realistic feeling - especially in the rallies where you have to wrestle with the steering wheel to stay on the road - very much fun indeed.
I'll have a look at God Of War and Colossus if I see them in the shops.
