Oh yeah. Last year was pretty good too. We had Morrowind, GTAIII, Battlfield 1942, and Medal of Honor. Can't wait for Deus Ex 2 and Vice City though!

Speaking of Homeworld2, here comes the most loyal fan of Homeworld: Yian!!!

I just watched Homeworld2's trailer, and OMG it sucked. The game's graphics looks shitty compare to ORB or Higgiemaniac, and the voice-over of the pilots sound so amateurish, it make me so sick. Relic better fix the thing soon. The box-art of the game looks FUGLY, too. They got to fix that... what else, oh, and they didn't show any great music in the trailer, I hope there are some.

1. GTAIII, once you beat it and screwed around a little, i bet you never touched it again
2. Morrowind is a MMO or just a normal RPG, right? I hate that crap!

I dunno 2002 wasnt all that big, for me atleast, sure bf1942 rocked world and Morrowind was cool, but you have to have good games coming out, it's just that this year will have huge titles like HL2 D3 and many many more good games.

Fuck yeah, the two h2 games will rock! Homeworld 2 and Half-life 2.

The last half life seems like it had a half life of about 5 years, I wonder how long Half life 2's half life will be?

how old is Half-life? 5 years? And anyways, it would be impossible to figure out it's Half-life, unless you knew the member stats.

Deus Ex

Hell yeah! 2003 is indeed a great year for PC gaming, especially since the sequel to my all-time favorite game is coming out. :)

never mind, I was going for a play on words thing. The half-life is the time it takes for half the atoms of an element to decay. So it would be the time it takes for half of the Half Life players to decay. Or something.

I knew that, but you'd need to know how many members there were orignally then how long it took until you have half of that. That was what I meant

Half-Life was released in 1998.

Oh yeah, I know what ya mean now. I guess I'll have to start an archeological dig to find out. :P

Yes, I knew 1998, I lived back then, I pirated the press release version back in the day. That's where the five years thing came from. I figure that by now about half of the people that were playing when it was most popular aren't playing it anymore. I seem to remember 50,000 or so regular players, nowadays it's like 20,000.

Well I still remember getting that "Uplink" demo or whatever it was and I thought it was a full game lol, so when it ended like after 30 mins I was like WHAAAAAT WTF, FUCK YOU VALVE!

Then I got told it's just a demo or something, I was such a n00b back then :D

nothing has been big for me except when half-life was gonna come out, and quake2 was already out, and were working on q3...I dont like the war games, war movies, there made to get you to go fight for the war (like sub conscious shit). This year will definitely be the best since those days mentioned above..

Is it just me or is there something wrong with this list?

Half Life 2 - Ok :D

Doom3 - yeah well, the ENGINE is worth looking forward to, but I seriously doubt that the gameplay is going to be any different from all the other Id Software titles, i.e. absolutely NO story elements and rather boring and mindless gameplay.

Deus Ex 2 - Perhaps ... if the fact that it's a multiplatform game doesn't ruin the brilliant gameplay of the predecessor. The graphics look just fine so far, but there has been suspiciously few details about the gameplay. I'm going to wait to see what's what when the game comes out.

War of the Ring (they hope to get it done be4 xmas) - There have been ample opportunity in the past 20 years to make a game based on Tolkien's books but not until have anyone dared to do so. Now, however, one title after the other is in the works and given the fact that it's the movies and not the books that started this franchise milking AND the fact that deadline for these games are much more important than the actual contends of the games, make me question of the quality of the game. I'm not getting my hopes up just yet. :(

EA is working on another LOTR based RTS!!! - See previous title.

Breed - Could be. Breed is a 100% Halo clone and since Halo was a pretty crappy game, I don't think cloning a bad game is a good idea. However, perhaps the developers have been able to do it right this time, so Breed might indeed be worth looking forward to. We'll see.

GTA Vice city - This is undoubtedly great news for a lot of people. I, myself, couldn't really care less. I've never been fond of driving/racing games and since the gameplay of GTA titles is 80-90% racing and 10-20% something else, I'm going to pass on this one.

Halo - Unless the developers in charge of converting the game have performed miracles and have transformed Halo from a passable console FPS into a full-fledged PC FPS, the PC version of Halo is going to make Unreal2 seem like a long and brilliant game. On the other hand, the developers have had 18+ months to make a simple "porting" so they may indeed have enhanced the game to make it able to stand up to it's PC counterparts ... though I doubt it. :(

Lionheart(hope it would atleast be half as good as BG) - I agree with this one :)

Homeworld 2 - Yep :D

Well, that's my oppinions of the games listed.

I disagree with that, I think that it's not 80%-90% racing, for me it was more like 50-50 drving-something else. That was GTA 2 though

Have to agree on that one. GTA3 was indeed a good mixture of things. you had to drive to get around but some things you just had to do by foot. Too bad the little fucker was so fucking slow on his feet. JESUS busting up a car in a car-free environment was the dumbest thing to do because it meant that you had to WALK to the nearest road and that took loooooong

Well I just recently saw the new Breed trailer and I have to tell ya it looks superb, the flying kinda really reminded me of Star Wars: Clone wars, the war scenes and the driving/action looks superior to halo ie fast placed and no console crap.
