I've seen some good screen shots and read some good info on it. Even downloaded a trailer but it was laggy on my computer which sucked.

However i keep getting different release dates... First Quater 2007, Second Quater 2007.

Anyone know the release date for it?

Ain't played unreal in ages since my 2004 disk broke, it's going to be so fun to play again.

I never really enjoyed UT. I guess the only one I really thought to be exceptional was the first UT.

I'm more itching for Quake Wars.

I'm none too happy about this development. At first, I wanted to think it was some sort of bad joke. Not sure who I'm more angry towards; Epic, Midway or Microsoft. This was the only thing that had even the slightest bit of leverage to cause me to invest in Vista and a DX10-compliant graphics card. While it was doubtful that was really going to happen, suffice to say that I'm completely out of that program, now. Maybe next year.

So, where's the problem? It's not like the fact that it's heading to a console is a new development, it's been planned for PC and PS3 since the beginning, they're just adding 360 to the list.

As for the name change, I could care less as long as the game itself is good.

I've always held Epic in high regard, and that won't change until I've played UT3 for myself, if it's a letdown then they will lose some of my respect, but not until then.

Well, it's just complete conjecture on my part, but I was expecting this to go gold before the end of April, with a demo available perhaps three weeks sooner. Now, with the 360 version in play, I suppose the goal is more like mid-November for the Black Friday crunch, with an absolute "drop dead" date of mid-December. That is my problem with this bit of bad news.

It's not that I mind the Xbox involvement, but Midway should have squeezed the trigger on releasing the PC/PS3 versions ASAP, and let Epic do the 360 development on their time, not mine. I don't see the need for a simultaneous release across all three platforms. But, I'm sure Midway and especially Microsoft, disagree. I can imagine Sony executives jumping off rooftops...

I was aware of the PS3 involvement all along, and, quite frankly, I've been a bit leary of the PC version suffering somewhat as a result. Adding yet another console platform into the mix doesn't do anything other than increase my apprehension.

"Unusually for the series, this new incarnation of UT will feature a beefed up single-player component featuring online cooperative play, for all platforms." So, does this refer to the game as it stood all along, or is it a reference to a somewhat different direction the game is going in since the Xbox port was decided on? I haven't exactly been sitting in on meetings at Epic, but I have been keeping track of this title reasonably well, and that statement doesn't align with anything I recall reading about UT2007 in the past.

As for the title, I was fine with Unreal Tournament 2007. At least it left one with some assurance that the game would ship this year. Yeah, it's no big deal in the grand scheme of things, but calling this UT3 sort of ungraciously throws Unreal Tournament 2003 under the bus. It was a shakey relationship at first, but I've grown to like that particular game quite a bit. Epic has always been a great organization, and does a terrific job at keeping their customers happy. I'm not burning any bridges, but I would be lying if I didn't say this announcement bothers me.

I doubt the 360 rendition was tacked on.

My guess is that Sony was simply dropping change to stifle the announcement.

But that's just a Microsoft fanboy talking.
