I happened to see a guy I went school with a few nights ago. I remembered he was going to school to work for blizzard, that was his life dream pretty much, and it turns out he did get hired by them. That part wasn't too surprising considering that there are a lot of blizzard employees that are teachers at my school, and some of the nerdiest people I have ever witnessed. So he told me what he does there and how he likes it, and I got around to asking what their next game is. Of course he acted like he was some huge bad ass that he couldn't tell me some this top secret game he was making or the world would blow up, but finally I got it out of him that they are making a Star Craft 2. I'm not a big blizzard fan, but I know most people would have an orgasm just hearing those words.

on the by and by, I heard bliz basicly slowed down all game productions while theyr suckled off wow's sucess not wanting to drag form it with new content. thus the team who where making Diablo 2 apparently splitting off and making their own game ect.

Well him telling you this could very well be from Blizz letting the NDA ease a bit on the game, maybe just letting people know Blizz is actually making it. A few days a go there was a post taken from a translated Korean Gaming Magazine that Blizz is making SC2 with the hopes of getting it out early next year. There is going to be a new race based off of Kerrigan, and each race will recieve 2 new units each as well. Seein that there are a few conferences coming up in the next few months the hype machine is slowly starting to come to life now with "leaks of information" (most likely Blizzard authorized info releases through forum postings). Also a developer for the original said that this year marks the 10th anniversary of SC 1 and he would be "saddened" if no new SC game was made known of this year.

Also Blizzard just announced BlizzCon 2007 which will be August 3 + 4. They announced Burning Crusade at BlizzCon 05 so if they don't announce SC2 at E3 in July than they will most likely do it there. Most likely Blizz will use E3 to announce the next expansion for WoW and then BlizzCon 2007 to announce SC2 seeing that it is their festival and will be the best place to announce not only a new Blizz title, but the most anticipated, and wanted sequel of any game worldwide. Nothing gets hype going like thousands of slobbering fanboys.

SC is a build up army and rush type game, but has more depth. I hope SC2 adds to the depth. Thats what i sorta kinda said in a way kinda maybe.

I'm on the fence still about the Single Player being open like that. Seems they are integrating some basic RPG elements to sort of appease the World of Starcraft people. I liked the linear style of the first game it allowed it to be epic and engrossing.
