Cool Mass Erect 2

Just finished playing through the first hour or so of the game. Absolutely stunning.

Takes everything that Mass Effect did wrong and fixes it. And tosses in some Martin Sheen for good measure.

Go buy that shit, ladies.

The game is pretty god damn good, and I wasn't a fan of the first one in the slightest. I found the original to feel like a sterile vacuum sealed bland experience, with some super shitty characters that clung to RPG/Sci-Fi archetype like dingleberries to my hairy ass. Despite the fact that they've stuck with some of the gamey shit, like mini-games, they've at least had the decency to make them fit the world a little better, however, that shit gets old no matter what after a certain point. Although some of the characters are still there for seemingly the sole purpose of putting your digital weiner in, or grinding your digital ladybits together depending on which sex you chose, they're overall much fucking better.

Combat is actually something I would consider enjoyable in the sequel, which is good, because that seems to be focus here. It doesn't feel as tight as GoW, but it definitely feels superior to some of the other third person shooters out there, which is great because the combat in the first game felt like filling out paperwork over and over before the game allowed you to get back to the interesting shit. Also, the Biotic Warp might be the single most badassed power ever.

Also, this game has the best introductory sequence I've ever played, anyone who disputes me is a liar and a fraud, and I will fight you.

Also, no vehicle faggotry in 18ish hours of playing. Who wins? Everyone.

edit: Now only Bioshock 2, AvP, Napoleon, Bad Company 2, Pripyat, Assassin's Creed 2 (PC LOL), and Metro 2033 to look forward to during the early parts of this year. Holy fuck

Why does your penis love Biotic Warp so much? Are you playing as an Adept?

I am, after having played Soldier in the first game and found that to be beyond boring. With Biotic Warp you can use your lolurfrozen ammo to freeze a mother fucker, then convert your entire body into biotic energy, fling it across the room at incredibly high rates of speed, and rematerialize into them at that same high rate of speed. It makes them explode into badguysicles all over the place and is awesome.

Don't you mean Charge? Which means you're a Vanguard?

But yeah, Vanguards rape. I'm going to evolve Cryo Ammo to be supper effective and freeze-shatter-combo shit like nobody's business.

That's exactly what I meant, on both counts. Because I'm stupid.

I could not agree more with you especially with the vehicle faggotry comment. The first thing I did when I played the Crash site of the Normandy DLC mission is unload all my ammo on the "corpse" of the Mako. I knew it was gonna be me or that motherfucker.

Rust in Peace.

Hah, I kind of miss going on those lonely Mako expeditions exploring other worlds.

I hopped rockets like it was going out of style.

I'm finding the game pretty god damn awful. I'd prefer it if there were no dialogue options and you just sat there and a cutscene played out, you're going to click through all the options anyway. They've totally done away with the item collection and leveling enjoyment of RPGs. I actually just decided to click auto level because the options were so limited and I just didn't care any more. The graphics are also terrible, the textures are horrendously low res, probably because people complained so much about the elevator rides (low res, less memory, less loading etc).

Just to be petty, Martin Sheens goddamn cigarette doesn't match up to his mouth ffs and his hand goes through the chair, I thought we were passed this kind of shit in AAA titles??

I hate you all and I'm going to go play Forza 3 instead, because it rocks my panties.

Seriously... whoever animated teh cigarette smoking never inhaled.

ME2 has some very nice level design, great utilization of Unreal Engine, good charcters. Fun combos (my fav being pull+warp+throw), but lacks the depth and character ME1 had imo.

ME2 is definitely a step backwards for gaming. Today it reminded me of the first FMV (full motion video) games, except without the puzzles of 7th Guest or 11th Hour. The kind of games where it was movies then a few mundane choices, then more movies.

The production quality is beneath what I've come to expect from BioWare as well, the face textures are mostly good, but the animations are constantly going through things they shouldn't and being in places they shouldn't along with some really mediocre copy paste level design. It's a real pity their 'A' team didn't work on it.

Can't wait till Awakening arrives, so I can get me some more proper BioWare goodness.

Sounds rather petty to me Bored. Not up to Bioware's usual standards is still better than a whole hell of a lot of other RPGs on the market. A lot of games have clipping of some sort present.
